Life update

Ok y’all, I know it’s been a while. It’s May, and I’m ready to get back into the game.

I thought I’d post a little update and review of the last couple of months.

First things first, my grandmother passed in March. It’s been rough. She was an amazing person and I miss her very much. She was very special to me, so it’s been a hard couple of months, and that’s mostly why I haven’t felt like posting much lately.

On a more positive note, Easter was last month. Remus and I celebrated Easter after church. He’s gotten so big! I took him to see the Easter bunny at Petsmart, and he wasn’t a big fan. He was a little happier on Easter, though, when he got his first Easter basket. He found some toys and treats that the bunny left him, and was a very happy pup.

I also spent Easter at church and with my family. I love Easter, especially because our church service is always really good. I also loved celebrating with the girls from my small group. Then my family had dinner at my brother’s. We had fun, and I especially loved snuggling my newest niece.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends, Hannah, flew in from D.C. for the week. I was off for Good Friday, so we decided to explore a little bit. We had lunch at Local’s, which was definitely an excellent decision. Seriously, if you’re in the Lexington area, check it out. SO GOOD. Try the nachos; they are AMAZING. Remus loved meeting his Aunt Hannah, and loved sitting on the outdoor patio at Local’s.

Last week, I attended a conference in Cincinnati for work. I honestly hadn’t wanted to go, but it ended up being pretty fun. I got to know some of my coworkers, which was nice. We went to Rhinegeist and hung out on their rooftop bar for a while. It was really pretty, and had a great view. One of the days there was a market in Fountain Square (right across from our hotel). They had a penguin from Newport Aquarium, and you could pet it! It was really cute, and I was pretty happy. I met one of my best friends for dinner one of the nights we were there. She works about 15 minutes from my hotel, so she picked me up and we went to our favorite sushi place. While waiting for her, my boss, his wife, one of the guys in my department, and I went down to The Banks. They had the Budweiser Clydesdales there, and harnessed them to the cart, and it was really neat. I’ve never seen them in person, so I was pretty excited!

Monday, I attended my first baseball game of the season. A good friend wanted to go to a Reds game for his birthday, so we took a half day off work and headed back to Cincinnati. I LOVE me some baseball. It was a really fun night.

I think those are most of my highlights for the last couple of months. What fun things have you been doing lately?
