SHEIN Review

A friend recently messaged me and asked about SHEIN clothing. If you’ve been here a while, you’ve seen some of my SHEIN outfits. If you’re new here, first, welcome! Second, SHEIN is a clothing website providing low cost clothing. She said she was a little hesitant about ordering from them, but looked through my blog and saw some posts about SHEIN and had some questions for me. I wrote this post a couple of years ago, and just thought I’d update it with more recent info and photos. I’ve ordered from them several times, so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what ordering from them is like. I’ll include some pictures of some of my favorite pieces, including items I’ve posted about here on the blog. Each caption will include what item is from SHEIN, as well as the blog post the photo is featured in.

SHEIN is a shopping site I’ve been using for a few years. It features affordable clothing for women and teens, as well as accessories – and now they even feature beauty items. According to their website, “SHEIN prides itself on offering on-trend styles catering to both young women and teens, that won’t break the bank. SHEIN is able to stay on top of the latest fashion trends from around the globe while rapidly bringing these styles to market. So whether you’re searching for boho dresses and graphic tees or patterned blouses and chic swimwear, SHEIN is the ultimate one-stop-shop for the modern yet economical fashionista.”

So far, I haven’t had any major issues with the SHEIN site. I’ve always had pleasant experiences shopping with them. I’ve ordered everything from shirts to shorts, jewelry, shorts, sunglasses, and more. I don’t think there’s anything I’d avoid – just check the sizing and materials before ordering.

The one issue I have with them is their sizing. NOTHING is sized the same, so it’s a little complicated. I recommend getting a measuring tape, and measuring yourself. Every time you look at an item, check the sizes. They go by measurements, NOT BY STANDARD SIZES. Purchase items using measurements, not the size you typically wear. Seriously, I’ve ordered small in some items, and 4XL in others. The measurements are the really important things you need to look at. A lot of items also have reviews from customers, which lets the consumer (you and me) know if the item fits true to size (again, based on the measurements), small, or large.

I struggled for a while, until I realized there’s an entire plus size section. Some of the normal sizes were a little too snug for me, but the plus size section is really great. They have some really cute styles, and they’re still affordable (unlike some clothing retailers). I love that a lot of options have regular AND plus sized options. I can order the same thing as a smaller friend, but it’s the same item.

The worst thing about SHEIN is the shipping. Shipping can be very slow. It can take a few weeks for orders to arrive, so it’s not ideal for ordering clothing for an event coming up very soon. I’ve never waited more than 3-4 weeks for products to come in, but I’m sure it can take a little longer. Right now, during the CORONA Virus, shipping can take even longer, as they’re trying to sanitize the items and make sure the experience is as good as possible.

Sometimes the quality can be hit or miss. I’ve had some items come in and be in perfect condition. Others have come wrinkled, or just haven’t fit. For the most part, though, I’ve loved my items. I’ve worn plenty of my purchases to blogger events, weddings, bachelorettes, and more! I think ordering online can always be hit or miss, so this is always a risk you take.

Overall, I really enjoy shopping with SHEIN. Have you heard of their site? Have you been afraid to order from them? Hopefully this information helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

The only things I can’t really say anything about are bathing suits and the makeup. I haven’t tried either of these items. However, I do have some of these items coming in soon, so I’ll update this when I’m able to report back!
