Pineapple Raspberry Colored Ice Cubes

The holidays are in full swing, so I wanted to share a holiday recipe my family has loved for as long as I can remember. It’s a tradition in our family to make pineapple raspberry Colored Ice Cubes for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it’s one of my favorite traditions. They’re refreshing and sweet (and a little tart, which I love). Start by pouring a large can of pineapple juice into a pitcher. Make sure to shake the can well before pouring. Next, add a packet of Raspberry Ice Crystal Light (we use these pitcher…

Birthday Freebies

It’s officially my birthday month, and I’m excited to celebrate all month long. Tons of businesses have birthday deals. I picked up quite a few last year, and can’t wait to score all the freebies this year! Below are the deals I’ve found in the Lexington, KY area, but most corporate businesses do provide the same freebies. *Some businesses may require an app download/account or Rewards Member subscription. A&W – free root beer float Aerie – 25% off Applebee’s – free dessert and appetizer Arby’s…

Lexington Bartending School

I recently attended a blogger event at Lexington Bartending School. We tried a few concoctions, and learned about the school. I posted a reel about the event on my Instagram, but I wanted to do a full post here as well. Plus, I love the pictures for this event, and wanted to share those as well as the videos (and all the yummy cocktail details). We tasted some surprising cocktails that were impressive and delightful, and gained some knowledge about cocktail making. First, let’s talk a little about the school. They tech bartending basics, preparing bartenders for employment…

Bites of the Bluegrass Ouita Michel Tour

Ouita Michel is an award-winning chef. She owns and runs several local restaurants in the Lexington area (collectively called Holly Hill), and all are unique and interesting. I’ve been on a few Bites of the Bluegrass tours (check out this post to see my experience with the Bites of the Bluegrass Danville tour), and I recently had the pleasure of attending a tour of locations in the Midway and Versailles areas in Kentucky, sampling some Ouita Michel creations – The Just A Few Miles South Culinary Tour. Bites of the Bluegrass is one of my favorite experiences in…

Pickle Beer Rankings

Happy National Pickle Day! November 14 is National Pickle Day, and my little pickle loving heart couldn’t be happier. One pickly think I’ve found that I love is pickle beer. Pickle beer isn’t everyone’s taste. Some people love pickles, some people hate them, and some people are in between. I’m a self-proclaimed pickle queen (check out this post to see the Pickle Festival I attended last year), and absolutely adore pickles. I’ve tried several pickle beers, and will taste every one I can find. I wanted to…

Wendy’s® breakfast is perfect for me to pick up on my way into work. You can orderahead through the Wendy’s app so it’s ready when you get there, it’s easy to eat at my desk, and they use fresh products, such as fresh-cracked Grade A eggs, juicy chicken breast, andapplewood smoked bacon. I tried a few items from their menu (and spoiled my coworkers with a few others…

The Big Dill Pickle Festival

I saw The Big Dill Pickle Festival on Tik Tok, and thought it looked like so much fun. I’m a big pickle girl (I’m that friend who will always take your extra pickles), so a whole festival dedicated to pickles?! Sign me up! When I found out it was my birthday weekend, I knew it was truly meant to be. I mentioned it to one of my best friends, Hannah, and she said she’d definitely join. So we bought the tickets, and headed out to Baltimore, Maryland over the weekend. What is The Big…

Danville, KY Food Tour

I’ve been to Danville, KY a few times, but it’s mostly been for softball tournaments. I haven’t really had much of a chance to explore the town and try some of the delicious food Danville has to offer (usually we only have a small amount of time to eat, and have a group of picky eaters that only want chicken tenders and burgers). I joined a walking Danville, KY Food Tour through Bites of the Bluegrass, and loved getting to explore the city and some of its tastes. We tried a variety of foods…

My Dairy Free Favorites

For 2020, I didn’t do resolutions. I set a few small goals, some for months and some for the year. One goal I had for January was to cut out dairy 3 days a week. I haven’t been diagnosed as being lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy, but I have talked to my doctor about it and cut out dairy in the past and can tell a difference when I cut out dairy. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite dairy substitutions that I found in January. Dairy Free Smoked Gouda Style Slices These…
