Happy National Pickle Day! November 14 is National Pickle Day, and my little pickle loving heart couldn’t be happier. One pickly think I’ve found that I love is pickle beer. Pickle beer isn’t everyone’s taste. Some people love pickles, some people hate them, and some people are in between. I’m a self-proclaimed pickle queen (check out this post to see the Pickle Festival I attended last year), and absolutely adore pickles. I’ve tried several pickle beers, and will taste every one I can find. I wanted to…
It’s apple season at Eckert’s Orchard, and I headed out over the weekend for some picking. They rotate through a variety of apples throughout the season, and you can pick whatever amount you want. I picked a full bag. I love snacking on apples, but they’re also great in pies. I love baking them in the air fryer for a sweet, yummy side dish that’s so easy. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to try, so if you have any good ones to share, please let me know…
I recently took a trip to Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky, and thought I’d share my experience. We stayed at a cute little cabin, ate some delicious food, had some great drinks, and explored a little bit of Kentucky, over the span of a couple of days. I’d only been to Red River Gorge once, to hike for my bestie’s birthday (check out my Hiking in Kentucky post to see details of my hiking adventures from the past few years), and the end result was gorgeous. I was excited to check out more…
The Grove is a new-ish spot in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is an overall umbrella location that hosts several local businesses. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and I’ve been a few times since they opened. I wanted to share a little about this cute little area that I’ve come to really love. Full disclosure – they did invite me to be an ambassador for the business, but this post is not sponsored in any way, and all opinions are my own. Nate’s Hideaway Nate’s Coffee has been around in Lexington for…
Happy Galentine’s Day! One of my favorite traditions is attending the annual Galentine’s Day in Versailles. The Amsden always hosts a big event, and it’s so fun. It’s full of activities, including DIY valentines, drink specials, a braid bar, and a permanent jewelry station. This year, a few other local businesses participated, and it was such a fun little girls’ day. If you’re here for the Galentine’s details, keep reading. If you’re here for the makeup + outfit details, scroll to the bottom of this post…
Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day are right around the corner. I love a good Valentine’s Day makeup palette and eye look, so I wanted to share some palettes that I think are perfect Valentine’s Day palettes. I love pinks, berries, reds, and I think these palettes really fit that theme. If you want to see some looks I create with these palettes, as well as some fun makeup tutorials, please follow my Instagram and Tik Tok! Happy Midnights release day! I’ve been so excited for this release, and I’m hoping it warms my little heart the way Folklore and Evermore did. If you’re a Swiftie too, you may have seen the Evermore inspired flannel that went a little viral. My bestie got it for me as a birthday present, so I’m sharing how to style the Taylor Swift Evermore flannel 3 ways. Flannels are one of my favorite Fall fashion items, and I love finding new ways to style them. I love that they’re pretty versatile…
I saw The Big Dill Pickle Festival on Tik Tok, and thought it looked like so much fun. I’m a big pickle girl (I’m that friend who will always take your extra pickles), so a whole festival dedicated to pickles?! Sign me up! When I found out it was my birthday weekend, I knew it was truly meant to be. I mentioned it to one of my best friends, Hannah, and she said she’d definitely join. So we bought the tickets, and headed out to Baltimore, Maryland over the weekend. What is The Big…
I’ve been to Danville, KY a few times, but it’s mostly been for softball tournaments. I haven’t really had much of a chance to explore the town and try some of the delicious food Danville has to offer (usually we only have a small amount of time to eat, and have a group of picky eaters that only want chicken tenders and burgers). I joined a walking Danville, KY Food Tour through Bites of the Bluegrass, and loved getting to explore the city and some of its tastes. We tried a variety of foods…
Galentine’s Day at The Amsden is one of my favorite annual traditions. One of my favorite local coffee shops, The Amsden, always hosts a Galentine’s Day party. There are specials, special coffees, and vendors. It’s fun and festive, and always fun. It’s a great little girls’ day (ladies of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun). Outfit details are listed at the bottom of this post. Check out The Amdsen’s website here. Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive…
