I usually go to the zoo a couple of times a year with a friend. For Christmas, we got each other zoo memberships. I got us Cincinnati Zoo passes, and he got us Louisville Zoo passes. It was completely unplanned, but it was a nice surprise. We decided to go over the 4th of July weekend, and it was HOT. I wanted to be comfortable, so I wore a cute but very light outfit.
Tanks are amazing in the summer. I know black is not everyone’s first option, but it’s my outfit preference most of the time. I found this tank at Walmart for $3. It’s great for summer because it’s so light. I love picking up basic tanks at Walmart (these shorts are also from there!).
I wore a dark red bralette underneath. Strapless bras in the summer are a nightmare. Bralettes are so comfortable and light. I love the lace straps on this one. It adds a pretty little detail.
I LOVE these shoes from Walmart. They’re so comfortable. I love them for the zoo. The cheetah print is so cute! It goes really well with a basic tank. Plus, they’re under $10!
The back of this tank is just a simple racer back. The bralette crosses in the back, which keeps the straps from showing too much in the back.
My friend Rachel had a cheetah print clutch, and I thought it was gorgeous. I found this one in the same pattern but a different style (this one’s just a simple crossbody). It’s gorgeous, and is really nice for the zoo.
I threw in a cheetah print scrunchie too. I was definitely wearing my hair up. It was HOT. But a scrunchie just adds something fun.
I snagged this polar bear necklace at Kohl’s. It came with a silver one also, and they were on clearance (under $10 for both)! Polar bears are my favorite animals, and this necklace is so cute.
I didn’t want to wear a lot of heavy makeup. I wore a foundation with an SPF included to give my skin extra protective. BUT, I wore the Lion King palette on my eyes. I thought it was appropriate for the zoo. This palette is gorgeous, and I love the neutral but a little dramatic look for the zoo. It stayed on my eyes all day, which is great for this heat.
