The Big Dill Pickle Festival

I saw The Big Dill Pickle Festival on Tik Tok, and thought it looked like so much fun. I’m a big pickle girl (I’m that friend who will always take your extra pickles), so a whole festival dedicated to pickles?! Sign me up! When I found out it was my birthday weekend, I knew it was truly meant to be. I mentioned it to one of my best friends, Hannah, and she said she’d definitely join. So we bought the tickets, and headed out to Baltimore, Maryland over the weekend. What is The Big…

LiveWELL Fitness Personal Training Experience

I’ve attended a few personal training sessions at LiveWELL Fitness in downtown Lexington, and have really enjoyed the experience. They recently revamped their ownership, gym space, and overall training program. Co-owner and head trainer Keaton Jones is a Certified Personal Trainer, and my sessions with him have been a great experience that I wanted to share. I love that each session at LiveWELL is customized. You walk in, and there is a warm up and cool down for everyone, but your personal needs are assessed and there is a board detailed with a workout specifically for you…

My Growth as a Blogger

*This post is sponsored by Intellifluence. *Kentucky Girl Ramblings is occasionally gifted items to try and/or compensated in exchange for a post. Any collaborative post will be disclosed as a “collaboration” or “partnership”, or a “sponsored post.” Regardless of receiving a gifted item and/or compensation, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I will only feature products I truly love and choose to endorse. I started blogging in 2016. In college, I was a journalism major, and have been working as a Technical Writer for the past eight years. I missed writing for fun, so I started…

Newborn Photos

A friend asked me to take newborn pictures for her. Confession, y’all, I was really nervous. I’ve never taken newborn pictures before, so I definitely had some research to do. But also, I’m not big on babies and children. I’m much better around dogs and other furry creatures. But, I’m always willing to try something new, so I told her yes. The feet were the hardest thing to capture. Babies are wiggle worms! But, we got a couple of great feet shots and I think they turned out so cute…

Basic Invite Stationery + Baby Shower Cards

Raise your hand if you thought the paper you write on was spelled stationary. As a journalism major, I am ashamed to admit that I didn’t know it was stationery. But here we are. Thank you Basic Invite for teaching me the difference! I’ve worked with Basic Invite previously, and I’m excited to partner with them again. They have a great selection of stationery and cards, with almost unlimited colors (seriously, over 180 options to choose from, and each stationery set is customizable), and a large selection of fonts. They even have foil options…

Expectations on Women

My friend Lindsay (of Bourbon and Lipstick) started a podcast, Influenced the Podcast, with another blogger, Christine. I’ve really been enjoying it, and highly highly recommend it. Their latest topic was expectations on women. They put out a survey asking what expectations women have, and I wanted to discuss some of my thoughts on the questions asked in the survey, specifically the pressures of being single and having children. I’m not going to discuss every question in the survey, just ones that really hit me hard. Things are going to get a little personal in here…

Christmas (Cards) in July // Basic Invite Stationery

Writing has always been a passion of mine. I started blogging because I missed writing for pleasure. It’s one of the few things I am very passionate about and truly enjoy. I think I’m one of the few people that still really enjoys sending and receiving snail mail. Basic Invite has a really nice line of stationery, which makes snail mail so much more fun. I’ve partnered with them to share some of my favorite stationery options. I love the color selections of their stationery. They offer 180 different color options and 40 different…

Friday Favorites

It’s Friday! It’s felt like a long week, but it’s almost over! I’m pretty excited about this weekend, so maybe having something to really look forward to has made it drag by. I wanted to share some products that I’ve been loving lately. It’s mostly beauty, because I’ve found some really nice products, but some are “other” favorites. One of my best friends, Rachel, just started selling LipSense. She had a Facebook party before she became a distributer, and I ordered a couple of…

Be a semicolon, not a period

I received my semicolon ring a few weeks ago. I knew it was a topic I wanted to discuss, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to address it. Well. Today is the day. I’m posting this late, and that’s ok. Today is the day I need to post and to talk about this. Any time is a good time to talk about this, because someone is hurting at all times. “What does a semicolon mean?” You might ask. Here’s a description from Project Semicolon: “A semicolon represents a…

30 Lexington Restaurants Before 30

I was born in Lexington, and raised in Georgetown. I’ve lived there my entire life, minus my four years in Morehead for college. Somehow, there are still plenty of restaurants in Lexington I haven’t tried. If you missed my 30 Before 30 list, one of the things I want to do before I turn 30 is try 30 new Lexington restaurants. I’ve heard recommendations for most of these, and some just sounded really good. I’m excited to try them and explore new local places! Here are all the places I want to…
