LiveWELL Fitness Personal Training Experience

I’ve attended a few personal training sessions at LiveWELL Fitness in downtown Lexington, and have really enjoyed the experience. They recently revamped their ownership, gym space, and overall training program. Co-owner and head trainer Keaton Jones is a Certified Personal Trainer, and my sessions with him have been a great experience that I wanted to share.

I love that each session at LiveWELL is customized. You walk in, and there is a warm up and cool down for everyone, but your personal needs are assessed and there is a board detailed with a workout specifically for you. Strength training and cardio are included, depending on the workout.

I was a little nervous heading into my first training session, honestly. I’d never done a personal training session before, and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I quickly relaxed after talking to Keaton about expectations. There was no judgement on skill levels, and the first thing we did was go through a level assessment with a few basic workout rotations. I knew all my strength was in my quads (years of volleyball and horseback riding come heavily into play there), and Keaton confirmed that. It’s nice to know where your strengths and weaknesses are, and where there’s room for improvement. He also started off the first session asking for music suggestions, and I was delighted that a Taylor Swift workout playlist was already created and ready to go.

I love that the personal training sessions are just that: personal. The gym is small and intimate, and their sessions don’t overlap. You’re in the gym alone with your trainer, so nobody else is watching you or judging you (I know this is often a fear at larger gyms). You’re focused on YOUR personal goals, and working on improvements for yourself, without being concerned about what anyone else thinks.
