Newborn Photos

A friend asked me to take newborn pictures for her. Confession, y’all, I was really nervous. I’ve never taken newborn pictures before, so I definitely had some research to do. But also, I’m not big on babies and children. I’m much better around dogs and other furry creatures. But, I’m always willing to try something new, so I told her yes.

The feet were the hardest thing to capture. Babies are wiggle worms! But, we got a couple of great feet shots and I think they turned out so cute!

It helps that this friend has a ton of neutral items. The baby’s room is pretty much neutral. Neutral walls, neutral blankets, neutral chair. It definitely makes photography easy.

I love the pictures of this sweet boy with his stuffed animals. They turned out to be some of my favorite photos. His room is done in bears, which I think is so cute. He gladly held onto his stuffed bears, and the props really helped to create some cute pictures.

I love the pictures of him looking at his parents. There were a few of him just absolutely mesmerized by both Mom and Dad. I had Mom stand close to me and talk to him for some of the photos. He definitely turned toward her voice. I think it’s so precious.

Of course, we couldn’t forget the two furry members of the family! Mom used to be my roommate. The furball on the right lived with us too, so I’d known her for a while. Her little brother is such a sweet floof too. The pictures of them turned out adorable. They (surprisingly) cooperated pretty well. Such good pups.

What do you think? I’m pretty pleased with them. Her family has been full of compliments, and I’m flattered. I think they’re precious.

Have you taken newborn pictures? Do you have any advice for me?
