I’ve always said if I won the lottery, the first two things I’d do are: hire a maid, and pay someone to wash my hair when I needed it. My hair is very thick, and washing and drying it takes so much time and effort. Lather Hair Spa is just that… but with a bonus! You get a hair wash, but also a full spa experience, and I absolutely loved it. Stacy was wonderful and I wanted to share my experience.
My hair is thick, naturally wavy, and my scalp is very dry at the moment, so we tailored the spa experience to my scalp needs. Stacy used an exfoliating hair treatment on my scalp, which felt amazing. I love the Halo Waterfall for cleansing – I felt like it got all of my scalp clean and healthy.
She used a little massaging gadget on my scalp and oh, my, goodness. It was absolute Heaven (one of these massagers instantly went on my wishlist). Head massages feel great, especially with a dry scalp. This one also has red light therapy, which is great for the scalp. It helps kill bacteria that may be causing issues. It also helps remove buildup, which is great. I don’t normally use a TON of products on my hair (other than dry shampoo, my one true love), but having all of that removed is still fantastic.
We went with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, which was great for my hair. I usually wash it about once a week, because it only gets oily at the top. Hydration is a must for my hair, and this treatment left it feeling super hydrated. She also used a Rosemary mint hair oil and a hydrating hair mask to add extra hydration to my scalp.
The treatment also comes with steam, which can help open up the hair cuticles. This allows moisture to penetrate deeper into the hair shaft (perfect for someone with a dry scalp like myself) It can also help cleanse the scalp, removing dirt and buildup.
When I told her I had thick hair, I don’t think she was expecting THAT much when I took it out of the claw clip. She said I’m the only customer she’s had to refill the bowl for, which I thought was pretty amusing. This was also pre-haircut, so I definitely had a ton of hair to wash. Having it rinsed by a professional was such a lovely experience.
She also did a basic facial on me, with a Niacinimide mask. I love masks, so this was an added treat I wasn’t expecting.
Now, an excellent part of the treatment for someone with extremely thick hair like me, is the drying process. She tousle tried my hair, which felt so nice. I hate drying my hair, because it seems to take forever and kills my arms. Somehow, someone else drying it seems like it takes so much less time. We let it partially air dry at the end, but it felt so good. My hair felt so healthy, and I left the spa feeling so relaxed.
Go see Stacy at Lather Hair Spa if you want a relaxing experience! The spa was so calming and soothing, and my hair felt so silky and soft when I left. This may be added into my birthday treat rotation!
