Affordable Fall Outfit

I’ve already seen a ton of Fall outfit posts, and I’m loving all of it. My only problem is, that every outfit seems to feature one piece that’s under a certain amount… And most of those prices seem crazy to me (sweaters under $50-$100!).

I like fashion, and I like looking stylish and cute. But there’s no way I’m paying $100 for a sweater. My budget definitely doesn’t allow that kind of spending for one item that I will wear a few times. I didn’t pay that much for my winter coat! As much as I love Kate Spade, I can’t bring myself to pay $300 for a purse either.

I’ve put together a simple, cheap-ish Fall outfit. The shoes were the most expensive part, but you can definitely find a cheaper alternative. Another pair of booties or flats will work just fine with this outfit, or even a pair of riding boots.

I paired a simple, solid wine shirt from Walmart (that’s right, I’m not above purchasing a $6 shirt from Wally World) with a cream vest from Old Navy. I love layers for Fall, and vests are wonderful. I went with black skinny jeans from Old Navy, because I can wear colored jeans to work (as long as they aren’t blue, they’re in the dress code). A regular pair of dark skinny jeans would pair well with this outfit also. I purchased the bag from Charming Charlie (unfortunately, last year, but they have similar items this year), and some matching booties from Kohl’s.

I like this outfit because it’s simple, and can be casual, but could be dressed up with some statement jewelry, or down with more casual shoes. A deep Merlot color is a Fall Favorite for me (check out my latest post to see some great wine lip colors that would coordinate very well with this look), and the vest goes with almost any color, making it very versatile.
