Black Shorts + Black Off-the-Shoulder Tee

Summer weather is always interesting here in Kentucky. Some days, it’s in the 70’s, and some days it’s over 100. When it’s really hot, I prefer lightweight outfits like this one.

Off the Shoulder tops are some of my favorites. I think they’re so pretty. This top has a ruffly edge on the neckline and the sleeves, which gives it some detail that I love. It’s also actually a bodysuit. Bodysuits are something I didn’t think I’d ever like on myself, but my mind has been changed. They tuck into shorts and pants nicely, and don’t have a bunch of extra fabric to hide like a regular top, which makes them really flattering.

A comfy pair of loose shorts is one of my favorite pieces for summer. They’re comfortable but still very chic. This pair of paperbag shorts is affordable, and of course I love that black.

I love all black outfits (if you’ve been around here a while, I think that’s pretty clear). But I love adding in a little pop. These sandals have a gold strap, and a leopard print strap. The straps with details like these give them a little something extra, and I love that.

Another easy way to add an extra pop is with accessories. I love these Jezebel sunnies from Quay. They have a twisted gold trim, and are so pretty and stylish. I also threw on some gold and black bracelets from Steel Mill Co, The Crow’s Court, and Kate Spade. These leopard bow earrings from James C Boutique pair really well with the sandals.

I think this look is a little edgy, and this purse really adds a little more edge. It’s solid black, but has a little chain that attaches the strap. It’s so chic and pretty, and adds just a little bit of extraness.
