Lipsticks are one of my favorite makeup items. I love a neutral eye with a pop of color on the lips, or a bold eye look with a neutral lip. I also love a bold eye look with a colorful lip, or a neutral eye look with a neutral lip shade. My friend Priyanka and I (check out her beauty blog here) challenged ourselves in Feburary to share one lippie a day on Tik Tok. It was fun, challenging, and successful, and I thought I’d share them here also. I tried to include multiple brands, formulas, finishes, shades and price points.
I am a pale girl, so keep that in mind when seeing swatches and photos. Some shades may look different for others than they do on me. Priyanka also has a couple of lippies on her list that are the same as mine, so definitely check her out to see how they may look on darker skin! Also check out my Tik Tok to see more detailed descriptions and daily videos about each lipstick!

Shade: Risk Taker
We’ll start out with one of my favorites. I asked Priyanka if she had any red liquid lipsticks she didn’t want/use for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert, and this is what she gave me… and thank goodness. It’s gorgeous, it’s the perfect blue-red shade, and it doesn’t budge. I’ve had so many questions about this lipstick when I’ve worn it, and for good reason. It’s so pretty and lasts forever.
Shade: Taupe Beige
This is one of my favorite nude shades. It’s a gorgeous pinky nude for pale girlies like myself. I love the sheen it gives, and the formula is very comfortable. When these first released, they were almost impossible to get (the liners to go with them were even harder to get), but I think they should be easily accessible now.
Shade: Riri
This is a universally flattering gloss. I have the limited edition packaging from the Superbowl release last year, but the formula is still the same. It’s really comfortable and such a pretty mauve shade.
Shade: Creme in Your Coffee
This shade is so pretty. It’s a deeper mauvey-nude, and is gorgeous with my fair skin. My mom loved it so much she had me order one for her, and she has repurchased it several times since. It’s her favorite, and still one of my favorites. I absolutely love the shine it gives, and the color is so pretty.
Shade: Edgy
If you’re looking for a good liquid lipstick, this is one that I recommend over and over. It has a vinyl finish with a gorgeous shine. This one has almost a purple shade, so don’t be fooled by the packaging. It’s one of the most long-lasting lipsticks I own, and they have some great shades. Wicked is the only shade in this formula I wouldn’t recommend – I wore it on New Year’s Eve and it was all over my teeth by the end of the night. It’s the only shade I have a problem with.
Shade: Atomized
Mac has so many different formulas, and I love this one. It says it’s “Retro Matte”, but it has a metallic finish. This purple shade is beautiful. I know a lot of people are intimidated by bright colors, but I really love it. A bold lip with a neutral eye is a favorite look for me (and so easy).
Shade: Killing Me Softly
The name of this lipstick alone had me in love and feeling a little nostalgic, but trying it only made me love it more. It’s a beautiful deep mauve with a purple tint and a lovely formula. It also strays from the typical all black Mac packaging, and I love that.
Shade: On Repeat (neutral), Messy Bun (pink)
I love these glosses so much. So much so that when the shade “On Repeat” disappeared into the abyss of my friend’s car, I repurchased it. It’s my favorite nude shade of all time. Also so much so that I even still have the shade “Messy Bun” in the old packaging. it used to be available at Ulta, but unfortunately, it’s unavailable there now.
Shade: Black Cherry
E.L.F. is becoming known for their dupes, and this lipstick is easily one of their top dupes. It’s a more affordable version of Clinique’s Black Honey (see the next lipstick in this post). The formula is almost the same – a sheer wash of color. In the photo below, I’m wearing Black Honey on one side and Black Cherry on the other, and I can’t tell the difference at all.
Shade: Black Honey
Clinique Black Honey is a classic cult shade that’s been around for years. It’s a universally flattering shade that looks so pretty on almost all skin tones. Pri tried this one in her challenge also, so be sure to check her out!
Shade: Honey Talks
Lip oils are the new craze, and I love having an affordable option. Someone asked me what the difference between a gloss and an oil are, and the difference is that an oil has skincare benefits that make it very comfortable. it gives a gorgeous shine and hydrates the lips. I love it paired over Colourpop liner in the shade BFF, giving it a greige look.
Shade: 1995
I honestly wouldn’t have gotten these if they weren’t on sale, because they are on the pricier side. BUT, I’m glad I did. I’m not usually a huge fan of matte lipsticks, but these are gorgeous. Matte lipsticks can be very drying, but these are really comfortable and surprisingly long-lasting for a bullet lipstick.
Shade: Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk is another cult classic. It’s a pinky nude that looks so pretty. It has a satin finish that’s so pretty. I received as a deluxe sample, and it’s really nice. I love it with or without the matching Pillow Talk liner, and it’s one of my favorite nude lipsticks.
Shade: Mauve Mentality
Lip stains are also a hot topic right now. I’ve tried a couple that haven’t really worked out. This formula from Milani is definitely the best one I’ve tried. It has a great amount of lasting power, and the shine when it’s first applied is so pretty. This shade is great for pale skin, especially as a redhead.
Shade: Spellbound
When Sigma launched a Beauty and the Beast collection, I’d been eyeing it for a bit. When they had a sale, I went ahead and grabbed it. The lip creams in the collection are so nice. I thought they were going to be a glossy formula, but they’re more opaque than I’d expected. All three shades in this collection are pinky nudes that are gorgeous.
Shade: Ube Milkshake (pink), Chocolate Milkshake (neutral)
I love a good gloss, and this formula is great. Ube Milkshake is a beautiful opaque pink, and Chocolate Milkshake is a neutral. They have a milkshake scent, so stay away if you’re sensitive to fragrances. They’re so pretty on their own, or over liners. They’re affordable too, which is always great.
Shade: 2020
This lipstick came as a gift with purchase, and I’m glad it did. It’s a gorgeous matte bullet lipstick with a pink hue. I think it’ll be a gorgeous spring lip shade. It looks great on fair skin and it’s really comfortable. I have very few matte shades, so think one’s a great addition to my collection.
Shade: Tunnel Vision
Bullet lipsticks usually have a decent lasting power, but this one is crazy. I’ve never found a bullet lipstick that lasts this long. I wore it to a wine tasting, and didn’t have to reapply it at all. The color is a gorgeous bright pink, and I fell in love with it the minute I put it on.
Shade: Devotion
If you’re looking for a tinted balm with a very shiny finish, this one is a great option. Even with dry lips, it’s really comfortable. I wouldn’t say this one lasts a really long time, but it’s a really pretty nude shade. Over a liner, it would have more staying length, but it’s really nice if you don’t mind reapplying or are only going somewhere for a short amount of time.
Shade: Mai Type, Berry Banger, Gem and I
I mentioned above that I love a neutral eye look with a bold lip, and these are perfect for that. I have 3 shades in this formula, and they’re stunning colors. These are lip stains, but I was a little disappointed in them. They apply beautifully, but they sadly don’t last like I’d expected them to. I ate dinner and there was nothing left. I think they might last better if I dab off the glossy part a bit after application, but I need to retry them again to determine that.
Shade: On a Mission
This was probably my biggest disappointment in this series. I tried out quite a few formulas, and this one was definitely one I didn’t love. It used to be one of my favorites, and maybe this one is an older lipstick in my collection, but it didn’t last at all. I had to reapply it several times, and it was flaking off throughout the day. I love the shine it gives in the beginning, but it unfortunately didn’t last. I wouldn’t recommend this at all anymore. NYX has some great products, but this one isn’t one of them.
Shade: Uncensored
Earlier, I mentioned the Fenty lipstains being a disappointment. The lip paints do not fit that description. These do come off a bit in the middle, so reapplication can be required, but for the most part, these are pretty long lasting. They have a matte finish, but they’re not drying at all.
Shade: Flaunt It
This liquid lipstick is another really comfortable formula that I love. The texture applies a little moussey, but dries down to a matte. It’s a pink shade that looks gorgeous on fair skin. I would highly recommend this formula if you want a matte liquid lipstick that stays all day, and is also very affordable.
Shade: Wishy Washy, State of Mind, Deep Gratitude
These lipsticks are so interesting. They apply as a shimmery shade, but underneath each one is a hot pink stain that’s so pretty. I love both the shimmer and the stain. I thought they were going to be similar to the Ciate Lip Flips that released a few years ago, but they’re really their own unique formula. If you want something shifty and shimmery, these are stunning!
Shade: Dolly
I’ve tried several Buxom glosses, and they are really nice. They had a shade called Courtney at one point… you know that’s somewhere in my glosses. Dolly is another cult classic, and their original most popular shade. The shade itself is gorgeous, and the gloss is gorgeous. Honestly, I’m just not a huge fan of the formula because I don’t really care for plumping lip products. I don’t like minty scents, and a lot of plumping glosses have that. This specific one doesn’t have that. But I just don’t like that tingly sensation, unfortunately. I love the look of this gloss, but the formula just isn’t one of my favorites (I also don’t really need any plumping, so this one just doesn’t do anything for me).
That’s it for now! It was a fun month, and I really loved digging into my collection to find some unique lippies. I review products pretty frequently on my Tik Tok and Instagram, so follow me on both to see more makeup reviews.
