For 2020, I didn’t do resolutions. I set a few small goals, some for months and some for the year. One goal I had for January was to cut out dairy 3 days a week. I haven’t been diagnosed as being lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy, but I have talked to my doctor about it and cut out dairy in the past and can tell a difference when I cut out dairy. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite dairy substitutions that I found in January.
Dairy Free Smoked Gouda Style Slices
These are amazing. Seriously. I fixed turkey burgers and regular burgers a few times, and these are amazing. I couldn’t tell I wasn’t eating real cheese, and I highly recommend them. I found them at Whole Foods, and will absolutely repurchase these.
Same as above. They’re great on burgers! I prefer the gouda slices, but if you like cheddar, these are good! I used these quite a bit on breakfast sandwiches too.
So Delicious Coconut Milk Key Lime Yogurt // Raspberry
These are my favorite non-dairy yogurts. The key lime flavor is really, really good. I struggle sometimes with the texture of yogurt, but I can eat these easily.
Same as above. I’ve heard a couple of friends say they can taste the soy in these so they don’t like them, but soy doesn’t bother me (I usually substitute soy milk in my coffee drinks). So take that into consideration. But I LOVE these. They’re probably my favorite DF yogurts overall.
Oui by Yoplait Vanilla Yogurt // Nature Valley Oats & Honey Protein Granola
This one isn’t my favorite. The texture of this yogurt does get to me. But it’s really delicious with some granola (and some berries if you’re into that too!) – I linked my favorite granola if you want to check that out!
Boar’s Head Everything Bagel Hummus
OK, this is my favorite snack. I’m a little picky about hummus, but this stuff tastes amazing. I’m a sucker for everything bagel seasoning, and it is so good in this hummus. I love snacking on this with some mini or cut up peppers or carrots. Seriously, I recommend it to people at the store. It’s amazing.
Daiya dairy free ranch dressing // blue cheeze dressing
Daiya sent me some coupons for free product, and the first thing I wanted to pick up was some dressing. Both of these flavors are great. I love using them on salads, but also for wing dipping. I realized once I ordered wings that I couldn’t get ranch, so these dressings are a game changer!
My sister-in-law told me about these. I love making wraps with them (Kroger chicken salad, or ham and turkey are my faves). They’re a really easy lunch item, and they’re delicious! They taste just like parmesan. So, so good.
Shredded cheese is a must. I love tossing some in tomato soup or chili, or adding some shreds to tacos and fajitas. This stuff tastes like the real deal.
This says better than sour cream… I’d have to disagree. The taste is pretty good, but the texture is definitely different than sour cream. I really enjoy this with baked potatoes, tomato soup, chili, and tacos. I love my sour cream so this one is a great sub.
I use this pretty regularly. Sometimes if I want a hot drink but don’t want coffee, I’ll make some apple cider. I have some apple cider k-cups that are great. I love pouring a little DF whipped cream on top, along with some caramel sauce from Starbucks. It’s an easy way to warm up without dairy.
Do you have any dairy free substitutions you love? I’m always up for trying new things! Leave me a comment with your suggestions!
