New Year’s Eve at The Grove

Happy 2024! I’m a little late on this post, but it has already been a busy year. I wanted to share some pictures from my New Year’s Eve, and just talk a little about 2024 and my plans for the year. I had a blast on New Year’s Eve. I spent it at The Grove (one of my favorite spots in Lexington), with some of my blogger friends, and it was so lovely.

2023 was a rough year. I had Covid for a second time, we had a couple of holidays later than usual, I only took one trip (???????????), and just struggled with quite a bit mentally. I’m hoping for a more positive outcome in 2024. I DID attend the Eras Tour in 2023 (check out this post from my Instagram to see some pictures and my outfit for the concert), which was a huge highlight of the year.

I’ve set some goals for myself that I’m keeping a little personal. I will be traveling more – my bestie is moving soon to South Carolina (I’m thrilled for her but am going to miss her very very much), so I definitely want to visit her new house. Another friend is getting married in South Carolina later in the year, so I’ll be traveling for that. I have a work trip this year, and I’m really excited to use part of that as a little mini vacation. My other bestie lives in DC, so I may take a little trip to see her. I’d like to take one more trip for the year, at least. Somewhere new I haven’t been before, is the goal. So that’s already a promising joy for the year. I’m hoping starting 2024 somewhere I love will bring good things for the year.

If you haven’t seen my blog post about The Grove, check that out here. It’s a beautiful little spot and a little unique for Lexington. I have come to really love their whole business, and I loved visiting quite a bit in 2023. When they announced their New Year’s Eve party, I purchased tickets immediately. It was fun having a reason to get dolled up and a little fancy (check out my outfit details here – I’m obsessed with my shoes for the evening), but it was also still a little casual, which was perfect for me at this point in my life.

We got there right at opening, which was perfect. We snagged a table for the group. When purchasing tickets online, they had an option to reserve a bottle of champagne (the ticket also included a champagne toast at midnight), so I did that. I love champagne, and it was a really good idea. They did also have some fun themed cocktails for the evening, and I tried a couple of those as well (friends at the table shared tastes of theirs, which was very sweet).

Like I mentioned earlier in the post, a few of my other blogger friends attended the event. They are some of my favorite humans, and ending and starting the year with them was so enjoyable and good for my heart. We’ve also become friends with one of the owners of Harvey’s Bar, one of the businesses in The Grove, Jess, and it was so nice spending time with her. She is the absolute sweetest, and part of the reason I love The Grove. Erin and Greg of Bites of the Bluegrass came as well, and they are always an absolute hoot (check out this post and this post to see my reviews their tours).

The night was truly a pleasure. I’m interested to see what 2024 brings. Hopefully lots of fun and positive experiences. I am excited to see what blog posts I come up with for 2024 (and what experiences will inspire posts), so be sure to subscribe to follow along!
