I can’t believe we’re already in April. This year is definitely flying by. I’ve been hard at work on my 2025 Project Pan. I’ve finished a couple of products, and made quite a bit of progress on several. I think quarterly updates are probably going to be easiest for me, so let’s get into the quarter 1 results.
This one’s taking a little longer than I expected to finish, but I guess it’s not surprising. I do use it pretty much every time I do my makeup, but only a little it of product is needed, so it is taking a while. It’s definitely be used up by the end of the year, but it’s moving along slowly.
We have our first empty with this primer, both in the project and in this post. It finished in early February, so I’m definitely proud of the progress. I love this primer and already have a backup. It makes my skin look so nice. I’m not putting the new bottle into my project pan, so this one is officially done!
Second in the finished category is the Lumi Gotion. I’ve been mixing this with my Haus Labs foundation. That foundation isn’t my favorite on its own, but it is nice with a mixer like the Glotion. It really adds some glow and moisture to my skin, making it look way more healthy. I won’t be replacing this one for now, because I have another product that will work as a mixer for now.
Haus Labs is a foundation that I think people really like or really dislike… and I lean toward the dislike side. Mixed in with something like the L’oreal Glotion, it works fine, but I still don’t love it. It’s taking a bit to finish up – there’s definitely progress, but it has a while to go. Partially, I think, because the bottle makes it impossible to travel with. The bottle is glass, so it’s difficult to travel with, but (as you can see) the bottle leaks if it’s not upright. I don’t want to throw this one in my makeup bag, so I only use it on weekends when I’m home. It definitely could have already been finished already if I could toss it in my makeup bag, but it’s just too difficult to do that.
Like I said in my original Project Pan blog post, I don’t contour every time I do my makeup. That means this product is taking a while to finish. I don’t see much progress on it so far. Maybe this update will encourage me to use this product a little more, but we’ll see!
Looking at the initial picture of this blush duo is crazy to me, because there’s been so much progress on the cream half of this blush. The dip in the beginning of this product is now about the same size as the current pan. I don’t think it’ll take all year to use this one up. It quickly became a favorite blush of mine, and I use it pretty much every time I do my makeup, even if I top it with a powder blush. The shade on my fair skin is so pretty, and it gives such a nice glow.
My Tower 28 blush hasn’t been used nearly as much as the Patrick Ta blush, so there hasn’t been much progress on it. I can’t use both cream blushes at one time, and I’ve been leaning toward the Patrick Ta blush. I think I’m going to keep focusing on the Patrick Ta blush until it’s completely panned, then focus on the Tower 28. They’re both great products, but I really like the idea of totally finishing one instead of working on both at the same time (especially since the Tower 28 doesn’t have pan in it yet at all)… but maybe I should switch them out quarterly so there’s progress on both? Clearly I haven’t fully decided yet.
Still no pan on my blushlighter palette. I have been using it pretty frequently, but no visible progress. I think the shade Sip Sip Hooray (which is the shade I’m focusing on) HAS to be close, but I can’t tell exactly how deep the pan in this one actually is to know exactly how close.
I haven’t used the bronzer much at all. It’s a hair on the orangey side for me, and now that I have bangs I definitely get very little use out of it. I think bronzer on my cheeks adds too much intensity, so I really only use it on my forehead. But if I wear my bangs down… that kinda defeats the purpose.
I think the visible progress on this powder will be pretty slow. I don’t think I’ll get through this whole container by the end of the year, but I am just including this to see how much progress I make on it in a year. It’s a staple in my daily process, because it prevents mascara from creasing onto my undereyes, so I am using it very consistently. It’s just used in such small amounts that I’m not sure how much will actually be used up by the end of the year.
Other than the products that have been completely used up, my highlighter probably has the most/the most visible progress. The project started with about 1/4 of the pan showing, but we’re down to around half of the product left. I do love highlighter, so I think this one is moving pretty quickly and I’m very proud of the amount that’s been used so far.
This is another product that I’ve used pretty consistently but haven’t seen much visible progress yet. My brows are blonde, so I use something to tint them pretty much daily. I go back and forth on the shades, depending how recently I’ve dyed my hair, so I’ve used both shades in this powder. It’s just very hard to tell that it’s been used, but it definitely has. Like I said in my initial Project Pan post, I don’t see myself using this product up completely, but I do want to see how much progress I can make on it this year.
I knew it wouldn’t take me long to use this one up, and I was right. I ended up having to use a brush to get a lot of the product out. Taking the stopper out pretty early helped, but a lot of the product was still down in the bottom and I was struggling to get it out (the applicator wouldn’t reach the bottom). Thankfully, I was able to get most of it out, but toward the end it wasn’t performing as well as a brand new bottle, so we called it done. Most of the product was used up, and the sides are pretty clear at this point, so yay!
Visible progress is definitely here on this single shadow. I have side pan on one side, and am close on another side. I set my eyeshadow primer with this shade pretty much every time I do my eyeshadow, so this one is making great progress and I’m very thrilled with the results.
I’m adding three new products into this project. I fished three up completely so far this year, and I have three new products I think can be finished up by the end of the year.
I’ve been loving formulas like this lip balm lately. A juicy lip is always a favorite of mine. There isn’t much left in this balm, so I’m going to go ahead and try to use it up. It came as a deluxe sample, so there wasn’t a ton of product to start with, but I think it’ll be fairly easy to use it up. The shade is really nice – just a hint of color, so it’s perfect for minimal makeup days, or to use as a topper for a more matte shade.
Similar to the lip balm, there’s not much of this lip creme left. It’s the travel size, and that has plenty of product in it. I love the shade on myself, and think it’s a great mauvey neutral shade for me. It may take me a bit to finish up, because I enjoy rotating through my lip products pretty regularly, but I do think if I focus on it, I can use it up by the end of the year.
I hadn’t planned on putting another primer in after I finished the NYX primer, but I do like this one. I don’t use it as an all-over face primer; it’s great for just the T-zone area. Jenny (Green Eggs and Glam) on Tik Tok described this one as a spackle for your pores, and I think that’s pretty accurate. It does mattify any larger pore areas, which I love. I’ve already made some great progress and there’s a pretty big dip on it, but I find myself forgetting to use it consistently. Hopefully by putting it in this project, it will be a reminder to use it.
So far, I think this Project Pan is going pretty well. We have 3 products finished in the first quarter, 3 new ones added in, some visible progress, and others that look basically untouched. But I have been inspired to really use these products, and that’s the main goal, so I’d call it successful so far!
Project Pan has become a big trend on Tik Tok, but it’s been around…
