The year is halfway over, which means we’re halfway through my 2025 Project Pan. I have some exciting updates, and some not-so-exciting updates. The visible progress of some of my makeup products is so thrilling to see, and I think this is going to be a pretty successful project.
Quarter 2 results for my eyeshadow primer are the same as quarter 1. I’m still trucking along on getting this used up, but I use a little at a time, so it does take a while to get through. I also don’t use makeup every day, so this gets used a couple or few times a week (some weeks it’s barely used). I still think I’m on track to finish it by the end of the year, but it’s definitely progressing slowly.

I hate to say it, but I’m so over using this foundation, and I’m more than ready to be done with it… but it’s so difficult to finish up, for two reasons: The bottle is glass and heavy, so it’s hard to travel with it, and the bottle has also been leaking for a while. I have to store it upright, and it’s so messy. This means I can’t just throw it in my makeup bag that I take with me, so I rarely use it. I do my makeup on my lunch breaks a lot of days, but this foundation just sits at home. I almost exclusively use it on the weekends only, and even then I don’t really like using it because I don’t love the foundation. Sometimes it’s fine, but it emphasizes texture on my face and I just dread using it and at this point, I’m only using it to finish it up. I still have a bit left, and it may actually take me all year to finish this one. I do use other foundations in the meantime, and those might actually get used up before this one.

There’s still not a lot of progress on this contour stick, but there is a little bit. I did just get a new contour brush, so that might help encourage me to use this one, but we’ll see. I don’t contour every time I do my makeup, and honestly sometimes I just forget about it. But I think if I focus on it, I could get this used up by quarter 3 result time.

Finally, a product with a crazy good amount of progress. I’m moving through this cream blush (reminder that I don’t really like the powder side, so I’m only focusing on the cream), which is very visible. I hit side pan quite a while ago. It’s getting a little difficult to use it, because the product is getting pushed to the edges, so soon I plan on repressing it so the product is in the middle again. It’s going to take away some of the visibility of my progress, but I think it’ll help me move through it a little more quickly, and will make the project easier to use.

Zero progress. I’ve still been focusing exclusively on my Patrick Ta blush, so this one has still gone untouched.

Quarter one results are still the same here: Still no pan on my blushlighter palette. I have been using it pretty frequently, but no visible progress. I think the shade Sip Sip Hooray (which is the shade I’m focusing on) HAS to be close, but I can’t tell exactly how deep the pan in this one actually is to know exactly how close.

This bronzer is also barely touched. I’ve used it a little, but it runs a little orange on me. I need to try to make an effort to use it more, but it’s such a struggle when I don’t love the way it looks on my fair, cool-toned skin.

It’s a little hard to tell exactly how much progress I’ve made on this powder, but I know there’s progress. I use it every time I do my makeup, only to set my undereyes. It mattifies my skin, which I love for the undereyes, but don’t necessarily want all over my face. I get mascara transfer under my eyes no matter what mascara I use, and this actually prevents that, which I love.

I do love visible progress, and my Rare Beauty highlighter definitely shows that. I see myself finishing it by the end of the year, and I love that. This highlighter gives a gorgeous finish and looks beautiful on the skin. I also love having a blinding highlighter that can allow me to be seen from space, and this one gives that.

I’m glad the goal for my brow powder wasn’t to use it up completely, because I don’t see that happening. But I have used it consistently this year, so I’m happy with any progress I make on it. I’ve mostly focused on the lighter side, but I do planning on dying my hair sometime this quarter, so the darker side will get a little more use soon. But I’m happy with any progress at all; at least I know I’m using this as much as I can.

Another product down! I knew this one would be finished fairly soon, and it didn’t take long. I use a neutral shadow or powder to set my eyeshadow primer, and this was perfect for that. Most palettes don’t have a shade like this (or, at least, most of the colorful palettes I prefer don’t), so having an affordable, individual shadow like this makes it very easy to get through.

I love lip balm formulas. They add a juicy shine to the lips that I really love the look of. This one is so close to being done, and I don’t think it’ll take much to finish it soon.

I’ve made some progress on this lip shade, but not a ton. There isn’t much left, but it’s a pretty color and is a great neutral-ish shade for me. I haven’t focused on it much (there’s a reason I didn’t include a lippie in my initial project pan launch), but I really need to crack down on it and get it used up.

Again, visible progress really inspires me to use my products. When I put this primer in my project pan last quarter, I was almost to the packaging, but now that’s very clear. I love frosted packaging like this one, but I hate that it makes products more bulky and makes them heavier. I wish this was in a smaller container. But I have clearly been using it more consistently, so I do love that and see it being used up by the end of this project.

So far, I think this Project Pan is going pretty well. We have 1 product finished in the second quarter, and plenty of other visible progress, so I think it’s pretty successful so far. Let me know what you think!
