Rachel Green will forever be a style icon. In the 90’s, the “Friends” character dominated the fashion world. 90’s style is definitely making a comeback, and Rachel Green’s style is something I love to look to for inspiration… which is how this outfit came about.
I saw these plaid shorts, and they instantly reminded me of Rachel Green. She wore them with tights, which I would never think to do. These shorts were the inspiration for this total Rachel Green look.
Rachel definitely wore black boots frequently. I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of over-the-knee boots (as a plus size gal, this has been no easy task). I found this pair, and they’re amazing! They’re so comfortable, and they actually fit!
I think a variety of tops would work with this outfit, but I decided to go with a scalloped neck body suit. I love that this tucks into the shorts seamlessly, and the scalloped detailing is beautiful (if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know how much I love scalloped details).
Rachel didn’t really have a specific makeup style, but I wanted to go with the 90’s theme. I went for a grungy look. I used the Marc Jacobs steeleto palette on my eyes, and Wet n Wild liquid lipstick in I Don’t Dessert You. I was very happy with the way the look turned out!
At my last haircut, I immediately thought of Rachel Green. Let’s be serious, Jennifer Aniston was BLESSED with beautiful hair, and she’s well known for some of her “Friends” hairstyles. I went with a simple straight hairstyle. My hair is short and layered like hers in the first few seasons, and I love it.
I wore this look to a soft opening of the new Spotz Gelato in Lexington, and it was so much fun! I think it’s a great look for Fall, so keep an eye out for repeats in the following months! Also if you’re in the Lexington area, be sure to check out the new Spotz Gelato location downtown!
Are you a “Friends” fan? If so, let me know your favorite character in the comments!
