September was a great month. Fall officially started, I celebrated my 27th birthday, and I published my first blog post. I moved out of my first apartment after college and fully moved into my first apartment on my own.
I discovered some new beauty products that I really like, and rediscovered some old favorites.
I recently switched foundations. I had been using one that I wasn’t very happy with. It was making my nose and the sides of my face look patchy (most people have oily T-zones. Mine is extremely dry, and gets very patchy, making foundations cling to my face. Not attractive). I had heard that people really like the L’oreal True Match foundation, so I decided to give it a try. So far, I really like it. It actually makes my face look a little glowy. I haven’t seen patches at all. I would like for it to be a little more full-coverage, but it’ll do.
The thing I don’t like about this foundation is that there’s no pump. You have to pour it out to use it, and I’m not a fan of that. I feel like I waste product like that, because there’s no consistent way to tell how much you’re pouring. If it had a pump, it would be perfect.
I had tried the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara previously, and I really didn’t care for it. But I was in a rush, and had one of the small samples of it, and tried it again. I don’t know if I possibly received a bad batch the first time I tried it, or what happened. This time, it’s been a favorite. I’ve found myself reaching for that before anything else (in fact, it’s almost a product empty).
The Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Liner has been a staple for me. I can create a quick, regular liner look, or I can go a little bolder and easily add a wing. I love felt liners, and this one is great, especially for how inexpensive it is. I definitely love that it comes off as very black, and is very pigmented.
Contouring has always been an issue for me. Not because I don’t know how, but because I’m so pale and pink-toned that it’s hard to find a color that doesn’t look like I have a muddy streak down my face. The Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette in Light/Medium solved my contouring struggles. I can use the lightest color in the palette (I really wish these were sold in individual shades), and it actually works! The color is gorgeous, and it’s not super intense.
I made a VS purchase, and only needed a few more dollars to get one of the free totes. I snagged this lip gloss in the color “Flawless” and I really like it. It’s such a pretty, neutral color, and works really well with my skintone. It’s nice when I want a hint of color.
That’s it for my favorites! What beauty products have you been loving lately?
