Shania Twain Inspired Outfit

Growing up, all I listened to was country music. We were in the golden age of country (confession: I really dislike newer country. 90’s country will always be my favorite). Shania Twain was my childhood idol. I received floor seats(!!!) from my family as a gift when I was 9, and I was so excited.

Shania was the QUEEN of country music when I was growing up. One of my favorite things about her was her unapolagetic sense of fashion. Most people can easily recognize her iconic leopard suit from her “That Don’t Impress Me Much” music video and remember her as one of the first women to frequently show off a bare midriff.
Inspired by Shania’s funky style, I decided to bring out my inner 90’s goddess for her concert in Louisville last week (one more item off my 30 Before 30 Bucket List!). Of course, that called for some leopard print and 90’s accessories.
I styled a simple black off-the-shoulder shirt (this shirt is out of stock, but here are 3 black off-the-shoulder shirts under $20: 1.SheIn2.Old Navy3.Nordstrom), inspired by this photo and her infamous “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” video black dress, with a simple pair of dark wash skinny jeans.
I already had a leopard print handbag (similar) and leopard flats (similar), so I added those.

I threw in some classic 90’s accessories I found at Walmart to complete the outfit. Some gold hoop earrings, a black velvet scruncii (of course I teased my hair like crazy), and a black and gold choker made the outfit feel very 90’s.
In the 90’s, Shania had big, voluminous, wavy hair. My hair is naturally big, voluminous, and wavy, so I let it be its crazy natural self. It worked out perfectly!
Even at 28, Shania’s music is still some of my favorite. If you can tell me the first few notes and “Let’s go girls” at the beginning of “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” don’t give you chills every time, I’m going to assume you’re too young to appreciate it, or had a terrible childhood. The concert was amazing. Shania is 53 years old and still slaying the game.
When you think Shania style, what do you think of? Were you a Queen of Country fan? If so, what’s your favorite song? Let me know in the comments!

Shania Twain has an amazing style. She dresses so confidently and I can’t help to think of her as sassy in every way possible.

As a man, I’m a little embarrassed to admit my favorite songs of hers are her ‘girl power’ ones. “Honey I’m Home” and “Man! I feel like a Woman!” are fantastic and have deep meanings another gender in general.

Shania Twain is amazing in every way. Her style is so very confident and sassy. As a man, I’m embarrased to admit my favorite songs of hers are her ‘girl power’ ones. “Man! I feel like a Woman!” and “Honey I’m Home” are classics. I could discuss the meaning of some of her songs for hours.
