Ok, Ulta released a Harry Potter collection, and it combined two of my loves: Harry Potter and makeup. This collection is gorgeous, and I’m actually really impressed. I wanted to share some swatches and thoughts.
I probably should have done this post earlier. All the palettes are already sold out, and I’m not sure if they’re coming back. I’ll be sure to link what I can and keep an eye out for rereleases. It’s only been three weeks since the whole set was released, which is crazy. They released a palette for each House, and they’re all gorgeous. There’s also a makeup bag for each House, which is really fun!
A brush set was also released, with a Deathly Hallows theme. The swirls look like the Death Eaters’ smoke when they fly (movie-ism, I know). They would be such a pretty display set, but they also work really well. They’re really soft, which is nice.
The lip crayons are beautiful. They apply really well, they’re really pigmented, and they feel really nice on the lips. Order of the Pheonix was out of stock when I first picked these up, but I was able to get Hogwarts Letter, Amortentia, and Love Potion. Don’t worry, I picked up Order of the Pheonix later when it was restocked. I love the color selections (neutral pinks and mauves are my favorites), and the packaging is stunning.
I’m a Slytherin, 100%. This palette is really nice. The packaging on these palettes are stunning. I’m so impressed with the artwork for all of these. I like that they included multiple greens. Sometimes green themed palettes give one or two options. This one includes 3 green shades, which are great. The silver shade in this palette is incredible, and very impressive. Check out the Slytherin makeup bag too!
I really wasn’t sure about the Ravenclaw palette when looking at it online. Holy moly, I’m so glad I picked this one up. The blues in this palette are incredible. It’s prettier than I thought it was going to be. The shades work really well together, and the shimmers are beautiful. Check out the Ravenclaw makeup bag too!
I am a Slytherin, for sure, but the Gryffindor palette is right up my alley. Mauves and marroons are my favorite. I’m a redhead, and very fair, and these shades work really well with my skin and hair tones. This palette is going to be beautiful for Fall, definitely. It’s also very much on theme, which I love. Check out the Gryffindor makeup bag too!
Last, of course, is the Hufflepuff palette. This one is also going to be a gorgeous Fall palette, in my opinion. This palette reminds me of the Anastasia Subculture palette (which I never picked up), but a little simpler, which I really like. I think Subculture really overwhelmed me, but this one seems simple enough to pull a few looks together. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m really excited for it. Check out the Hufflepuff makeup bag too!
The lip shades are all really nice. Swatched below: Lip crayons in Hogwarts Letter, Love Potion, Expecto Patronum, and lip gloss in Howler and Hedwig. Howler is really pretty, and pairs well with Hogwarts Letter and Love Potion.
Ulta also actually released a few more items that I haven’t picked up: a PH lip balm that changes colors to match your personal ph levels, a scrunchie set, a lotion for each House, a mystery bath bomb that sorts you, Slytherin nail strips, Gryffindor nail strips, Hufflepuff nail strips, Ravenclaw nail strips, a shimmer body oil, a jelly blush, and a face mask set.
