November 2016 Ulta Haul

haul

New makeup is one of my favorite things. Ulta recently had a one day, online only, 20% sale good on all items, including prestige brands. They don’t have 20% off prestige brands often, but I love when they do. I purchased a few items from the sale, and I’m excited to share! I’ll let you know which products I’ve tried so far, and how I feel about the ones I’ve tested.

smashbox-primer-water

Smashbox primer water was definitely on my list. My face is dry, so any hydration I can add to it is great. They also had a 5X points on Smashbox products, so I replenished my primer water during the sale (I had a sample that I just ran out of, and I really liked it).

mur-lipstick
Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in the color Chauffeur. I did try this, and I like it. It’s a pretty nude shade, and it’s very creamy. And only $5! I’ll post an Instagram picture with this soon so you can see a lip swatch.

tarte-set
Tarte Tarteist Paint Palette Collector’s Set – I got the Tarte holiday palette last year, and I absolutely love it. So of course I wanted to snag this set. I love Tarte shadows. They’re so creamy and pigmented and blendable. This set comes with 24 shadows, a highlight, contour and blush shade, a lip color, mascara, and a blush. It’s $49, and I really love the shadow colors. A lot of them are cool-toned, which I LOVE. There are a lot of neutrals, with a couple of fall colors and holiday colors (hello, that green is speaking to me and telling me it’ll be great for Christmas). I tried the shadows this weekend, and I really liked it. The shadows I tried were great, and I can’t wait to use this more.

Makeup Revolution Fortune Favors the Brave Ultra 30 Eyeshadow Palette – I’ve been dying for this for a while. I mean, you get 15 shadows for $15, and the colors looked really pretty. It’s been sold out forever, and it finally came back in stock right before the sale, so I was really excited. I was a little disappointed in the sizes of the shadows, because they are pretty small, but for $15, it’s a pretty good deal. The colors are pretty. I haven’t tried them yet, but I definitely want to soon. I like that there are a good amount of both matte and shimmery shades. I think that allows a lot of options for eye looks, which is always great.

catrice-mascaraCatrice Glam & Doll False Lashes Mascara – YouTuber Casey Holmes recently did a haul video, and she purchased a lot of Catrice products. I checked them out on Ulta’s website, and this mascara caught my attention. I’m glad I did; it’s pretty and subtle. I’m wearing it today with barely any other makeup, and my lashes stand out. It’s not extremely dramatic (I definitely don’t think it gives you a “False lashes” look, but it is pretty.

catrice-highlighterI’m fair and cool toned, so I love pink highlighters. This highlighting powder from Catrice in the color Stardust looked so pretty, and I can’t wait to try it out! It’s $5.99, so hopefully it’ll be a good drugstore highlighter for pale, cool-toned skin. I’m always on the hunt for that (check out my Top 5 Highlighters for Pale Skin post for some of the ones I currently love), and they have some other shades that also look really pretty.

catrice-contour-highlighter-setI can easily find drugstore highlight colors that I like, but I have a hard time finding contour shades. This Prime & Fine Professional Contouring Palette in Ashy Radiance from Catrice looked pretty, and Ashy Radiance seems like a nice cool-toned color. It arrived, and it might be a little too warm and dark for me, but I want to test it out soon. The contour shade is a cream contour, so it may not be as bad as I think it will be. The highlighter color does look really pretty though, so hopefully at least half of it will work!

nyx-foundation-mixer

Again, I am super fair. Which means a lot of companies don’t make a foundation light enough for me. My friend Rachel is a makeup fiend like I am, and suggested this NYX pro foundation mixer to me. I’ve been wanting to try it for a while, so I tossed it in my virtual cart. I can’t wait to try them. I don’t tan, so I’m pale all year, but it’s especially bad in the winter, which is coming up. Hopefully this works! It’s so frustrating when you find a foundation you really like, but even the lightest shade is too dark. So I’ll definitely try this out and keep you posted!

Do you have any of these products? Do you like or dislike any of them? Let me know if you end up purchasing any of these! I’m so excited to try everything out! Should I do an updated post after I’ve tried everything, or a makeup tutorial using all these new products?
