It’s that time of year again – time to evaluate what’s important and goals for the new year. One thing I want to work on this year is overconsumption. I have so much makeup that I need to work through, and Project Pan is such a great way to do that. I’ve done Project Pan before (check out this post for my 2021 PP, and this post for my 2018 PP), and I’m really excited to get into Project Pan 2025. I won’t be purchasing new makeup this year, unless I run out of something that I don’t have a backup for.
Milani has my favorite eyeshadow primer. I’ve tried a few primers, and keep coming back to this one. It’s affordable and effective. I’ve gone back to it over and over, and have repurchased it quite a few times. There’s not much product left in this tube, so I’m hoping to finish it up soon.
I tried this primer in 2024, and instantly fell in love with it. It makes my skin look so nice and hydrated, and, as the name suggests, plump. I’m not putting this in this project because I don’t like it; there’s just very little product left and I want to go ahead and use it up. Plus, I already have a backup ready and waiting for this specific bottle to be used up.
Glowy, dewy skin is definitely my preference when it comes to a base. Rarely do I reach for matte products. L’oreal Lumi Glotion is such a great product, that I love using as a foundation mixer. Haus Labs Foundation is also in this project, and I love mixing the two products to really get the finish I prefer for my base. Again, there’s not much left in this tube, so I want to go ahead and get that used up.
When I tried this for the first time, I wasn’t a huge fan. It didn’t give me the silky skin I was expecting. However, once I mixed it in with the L’oreal Lumi Glotion, it became a favorite in my collection. I love using this foundation when I’m taking pictures, going to an event, etc. – AKA when I need my skin to look great. The bottle is almost empty, and I think I can get through it pretty quickly.
Contouring isn’t something I do every time I do my makeup, but I do love adding it in when I do a full face. There isn’t much product left in this stick, and I have another contour stick I want to try, so I’m including this Fenty Contour Stick to try to quickly get through the product.
I talked about this blush duo in my December 2024 Product Empties post as a product I recently hit pan in. I had been planning on including this in this project, but I hit pan on it in December anyway. I would love to completely use this cream blush up, but I definitely want to get as much use out of it as possible. It has such a gorgeous finish, and the shade is perfect for my fair skin. Now… the powder blush is not my favorite, at all, so I’m not including it. I really just want to get through the cream blush, then give away the powder blush to a friend or family member. The shade doesn’t match the cream shade, in my opinion, and I don’t like the shade on my skin and don’t ever feel compelled to use it. I really wish he’d release the products separately, because I would consider purchasing the cream individually.
Another cream blush I’ve fallen in love with is this Tower 28 Beach Please blush in the shade Magic Hour. It’s such a gorgeous shade for pale skin. Like the Patrick Ta cream, this one gives such a gorgeous finish. Cream products to go bad more quickly than powder products, so I wanted to include both to encourage myself to work through them and move on to some of my other blushes (even though this one is for sure a favorite in my collection).
Unfortunately, this palette is no longer available. I’m pretty sure Beauty Bakerie was bought out, which is disappointing for me. This palette was my introduction to blushlighters, and they are so stunning. For this project, I’m going to specifically focus on the shade Sip Sip Hooray (the top right shade). All the shades are really pretty, but that one specifically looks beautiful on my fair skin. I really want to try to pan that one completely, or as much as I can, and then probably give the rest of the palette to my nieces to use. Having 3 nieces comes in handy when you have beauty products to give away, especially when they don’t work for your skintone but could work for them.
Bronzer is something I feel like I don’t get enough use out of, but I do like the Milani bronzer (I do love the Hourglass powder bronzer as well). I mostly apply it to my forehead, but since I’ve had bangs, I don’t find myself reaching for this one as much. It’s going to be a challenge to use this one, but again, it’s a cream product, and I really want to work through this one to make sure it’s not wasted.
Speaking of a challenge… this Huda powder will probably be difficult to get through. I do apply it almost every time I do my makeup (it sets my undereyes so nicely, and it’s the only thing I’ve found that keeps my mascara from transferring to my skin). But, it’s so finely milled and I use so little product at one time that it’s going to take me a while to work through, but I want to see how much I can use throughout the year.
Highlighter has always been a weakness for me – I want to be seen from space at all times. Rare Beauty did its thing with this one, and I fell in love with it instantly. Clearly, there’s already quite a bit of pan in this highlighter, and I really want to focus on it and see if I can finish it up by the end of the year. Enlighten is such a gorgeous shade for fair skin, and I love using it on the tip of my nose, my cheeks, my cupid’s bow, and my inner corner to get the maximum use out of it.
My brows are blonde and without any kind of shading, they’re barely visible and make me look ghostly. Anastasia brow powders are great for filling in my brows and making them look natural. I’d already hit pan on the lighter shade, but when I dyed my hair a little darker, I started using the darker shade more consistently and hit pan in that also. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use up the whole pan this year, but I’m going to give it a shot and at least finish as much as I can!
If you’re looking for a product that will get you compliments… this duochrome liquid shadow is it. I’ve worn it so many times over the past 6 months ish, and I’ve gotten compliments every single time. About half the product is gone, and I ended up taking the stopper out in December because I was struggling to get any product out. This is a product I can easily apply for a super quick and easy makeup look, and I’ve been using it so much lately. It will be a repurchase when I run out, and I do see myself running out of it by the end of the year (possibly earlier).
Colorful eyeshadow palettes are definitely my preference at this point – I love coming up with fun looks (I wear mostly black anyway, so it’s a great way to add a fun pop of color). However, I need a skin-toned shade to set my eyeshadow primer. That’s where this shadow comes in. Wet N Wild single shadow in the shade Brulee is perfect for this for me. It’s $4 for two shadows, so they’re very affordable, and I get so much use out of it. At this point, most palettes don’t include a shade like this, so I bring it in almost every time I do my makeup. This one lasts quite a while since I don’t need much of it, but it is pretty easy to use up since I do use it pretty consistently with my makeup. My goal for this one is to totally use it up, and I’ll repurchase it once I get close to that.
That’s it for now! I’m not sure how often I’ll do updates, but I’m thinking either monthly or quarterly. Once a product is empty, I’ll be swapping it out for another product in my collection to try to use up as much as I can this year. What product do you think will be used up first, and what product do you think will take me the longest to use?
