Fabled Brew Works

I recently attended a craft beer festival in Louisville, and my favorite was a peanut butter & jelly sour from a brewery I’d never tried before (or heard of), Fabled Brew Works. It was delicious and unique. I’d planned a trip to Cincinnati with some girlfriends for the next weekend, but needed to pick something up from my bestie at her work on the way. Out of curiosity, knowing the brewery was also located in Northern Kentucky, I googled the distance from her work to the brewery… and it is directly beside it. So I…

Happy Hour Specials in Lexington, KY

Lexington has some fantastic restaurants, bars, and breweries. Many have Happy Hour specials, and I’m on a mission (along with a couple of other local blogger babes) to try them all. I thought I’d share all the specials I can find, and document my journey through trying as many as I can! Let me know if you know I’ve missed and I’d love to add them in! Agave & Rye The special: $6 OG margaritas, $2 domestic cans, $2 off tacos, $3 chips and queso // Monday, Wednesday-Friday, 3-6 p.m…

Brunch at The Kentucky Castle

My nieces treated me to a special brunch at The Kentucky Castle as a Christmas gift…

Rail Explorers – Versailles, KY

I’m always looking for unique experiences in the Bluegrass, and with warmer weather coming, Rail Explorers is a great option! The starting point is just outside of Lexington, KY in Versailles, and you pedal your way through a few miles of beautiful countryside. I’ve been wanting to check this out for a while, and I finally went with my nieces and friend Megan. We went in the evening, and it was a great little ride. This is such a unique experience that would be fun for families, a little girls’ night, or even a date…

Lexington Bartending School

I recently attended a blogger event at Lexington Bartending School. We tried a few concoctions, and learned about the school. I posted a reel about the event on my Instagram, but I wanted to do a full post here as well. Plus, I love the pictures for this event, and wanted to share those as well as the videos (and all the yummy cocktail details). We tasted some surprising cocktails that were impressive and delightful, and gained some knowledge about cocktail making. First, let’s talk a little about the school. They tech bartending basics, preparing bartenders for employment…

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden is my favorite Galentine’s Day tradition. I’ve attended every year since they started hosting this event, and it’s always so much fun. This year, a few other local businesses in downtown Versailles also participated in some of the activities, so I’ll include those also. I met up with a couple of my blogger friends to celebrate, and we wandered around downtown exploring some of the local spots. If you want to check out my posts from previous years, the links are at the bottom of…

Bites of the Bluegrass Ouita Michel Tour

Ouita Michel is an award-winning chef. She owns and runs several local restaurants in the Lexington area (collectively called Holly Hill), and all are unique and interesting. I’ve been on a few Bites of the Bluegrass tours (check out this post to see my experience with the Bites of the Bluegrass Danville tour), and I recently had the pleasure of attending a tour of locations in the Midway and Versailles areas in Kentucky, sampling some Ouita Michel creations – The Just A Few Miles South Culinary Tour. Bites of the Bluegrass is one of my favorite experiences in…

Apple Picking at Eckert’s Orchard

It’s apple season at Eckert’s Orchard, and I headed out over the weekend for some picking. They rotate through a variety of apples throughout the season, and you can pick whatever amount you want. I picked a full bag. I love snacking on apples, but they’re also great in pies. I love baking them in the air fryer for a sweet, yummy side dish that’s so easy. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to try, so if you have any good ones to share, please let me know…

Red River Gorge

I recently took a trip to Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky, and thought I’d share my experience. We stayed at a cute little cabin, ate some delicious food, had some great drinks, and explored a little bit of Kentucky, over the span of a couple of days. I’d only been to Red River Gorge once, to hike for my bestie’s birthday (check out my Hiking in Kentucky post to see details of my hiking adventures from the past few years), and the end result was gorgeous. I was excited to check out more…
