I recently attended a craft beer festival in Louisville, and my favorite was a peanut butter & jelly sour from a brewery I’d never tried before (or heard of), Fabled Brew Works. It was delicious and unique. I’d planned a trip to Cincinnati with some girlfriends for the next weekend, but needed to pick something up from my bestie at her work on the way. Out of curiosity, knowing the brewery was also located in Northern Kentucky, I googled the distance from her work to the brewery… and it is directly beside it. So I told the girlies I had a spot I wanted to take them, and we made a little stop.
We stopped in Erlanger, and wandered into Fabled Brew Works, and I think all of our jaws dropped a little. The inside is incredible, and the cutest brewery I’ve ever seen. The decor is fantastic, fairy-tale themed, and whimsical (right up my alley). “Clouds” line the ceiling, and even have twinkle lights set to make the clouds look stormy.

The beers…. well. The beers are incredible. We each got a flight, and it was incredibly difficult to even choose four options (I probably could’ve gotten 3 flights and it wouldn’t have been enough). Their beers rotate (only two are stationary and always available), which is crazy to me. My favorite (and the one I’d tried at the beer festival that led me to try this place out) was the Wicked ‘Wich. The name alone sold me, but it was a peanut butter & jelly sour, and the flavor is insanely good. I’d had a peanut butter & jelly sour about a month earlier at Atrium Brewing in Louisville, and it knocked my socks off. This one was similar but not the exact same (this one leans more toward the jelly flavor, where I can get a delightful taste of peanut butter at Atrium), but both are absolutely delicious.

They also have a few meads on their menu, which is a pretty new concept to me. I have only tried a couple, and didn’t love them, but I think Fabled may change my mind on that. I’m intrigued and definitely excited to try more!

We also got to check out the back room, and it’s just as stunning as the front room. They have a hobbit house backdrop (it reminds me of the Folklore house), a bar area, more clouds (seriously, I love those clouds), and more. They also have a patio out front (dogs are allowed on the patio only, and I’d love to take Remus up there soon).

I have a feeling this little brewery is going to make me a regular. I brought some cans of the Wicked ‘Wich home, but I’m so ready to go back ASAP and try more of their delicious beers!

PS- if you stop by, don’t forget to check out the bathrooms. They (at least the womens’) is lined with book pages. It’s so cool and a nerd’s dream (mine, particularly).

If Atrium Brewing sounds familiar, you may have read about it in my Pickle Beer Rankings post! If you haven’t, check that out here!
