New Year’s Eve at The Grove

Happy 2024! I’m a little late on this post, but it has already been a busy year. I wanted to share some pictures from my New Year’s Eve, and just talk a little about 2024 and my plans for the year. I had a blast on New Year’s Eve. I spent it at The Grove (one of my favorite spots in Lexington), with some of my blogger friends, and it was so lovely. 2023 was a rough year. I had Covid for a second time, we had a couple of holidays later than usual…

Bites of the Bluegrass Ouita Michel Tour

Ouita Michel is an award-winning chef. She owns and runs several local restaurants in the Lexington area (collectively called Holly Hill), and all are unique and interesting. I’ve been on a few Bites of the Bluegrass tours (check out this post to see my experience with the Bites of the Bluegrass Danville tour), and I recently had the pleasure of attending a tour of locations in the Midway and Versailles areas in Kentucky, sampling some Ouita Michel creations – The Just A Few Miles South Culinary Tour. Bites of the Bluegrass is one of my favorite experiences in…

Pickle Beer Rankings

Happy National Pickle Day! November 14 is National Pickle Day, and my little pickle loving heart couldn’t be happier. One pickly think I’ve found that I love is pickle beer. Pickle beer isn’t everyone’s taste. Some people love pickles, some people hate them, and some people are in between. I’m a self-proclaimed pickle queen (check out this post to see the Pickle Festival I attended last year), and absolutely adore pickles. I’ve tried several pickle beers, and will taste every one I can find. I wanted to…

Wendy’s Breakfast

This post is Sponsored by Wendy’s®. I’m not usually a big breakfast girl, but sometimes I need a little something to get me through themorning. Wendy’s® breakfast is perfect for me to pick up on my way into work. You can orderahead through the Wendy’s app so it’s ready when you get there, it’s easy to eat at my desk, and they use fresh products, such as fresh-cracked Grade A eggs, juicy chicken breast, andapplewood smoked bacon. I tried a few items from their menu (and spoiled my coworkers with a few others…

Apple Picking at Eckert’s Orchard

It’s apple season at Eckert’s Orchard, and I headed out over the weekend for some picking. They rotate through a variety of apples throughout the season, and you can pick whatever amount you want. I picked a full bag. I love snacking on apples, but they’re also great in pies. I love baking them in the air fryer for a sweet, yummy side dish that’s so easy. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to try, so if you have any good ones to share, please let me know…

Red River Gorge

I recently took a trip to Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky, and thought I’d share my experience. We stayed at a cute little cabin, ate some delicious food, had some great drinks, and explored a little bit of Kentucky, over the span of a couple of days. I’d only been to Red River Gorge once, to hike for my bestie’s birthday (check out my Hiking in Kentucky post to see details of my hiking adventures from the past few years), and the end result was gorgeous. I was excited to check out more…

The Grove – Lexington, KY

The Grove is a new-ish spot in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is an overall umbrella location that hosts several local businesses. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and I’ve been a few times since they opened. I wanted to share a little about this cute little area that I’ve come to really love. Full disclosure – they did invite me to be an ambassador for the business, but this post is not sponsored in any way, and all opinions are my own. Nate’s Hideaway Nate’s Coffee has been around in Lexington for…

Terra Moons Cosmetics Shadows

In 2022, I discovered duo and multi chrome eyeshadows, and dove right into exploring these beauties. I think I found Terra Moons Cosmetics on Instagram (follow me here, and Terra Moons Cosmetics here), and placed an order recently. They have a ton of single shadows available, and they all looked so gorgeous. I thought I’d share swatches of the shadows I ordered. Sometimes it’s really hard to tell in the pans what the shadows look like when they’re so shifty, so I hope this helps! Note: I tried to get different angles of the…

Galentine’s Day in Versailles

Happy Galentine’s Day! One of my favorite traditions is attending the annual Galentine’s Day in Versailles. The Amsden always hosts a big event, and it’s so fun. It’s full of activities, including DIY valentines, drink specials, a braid bar, and a permanent jewelry station. This year, a few other local businesses participated, and it was such a fun little girls’ day. If you’re here for the Galentine’s details, keep reading. If you’re here for the makeup + outfit details, scroll to the bottom of this post…

Valentine’s Day Palettes

Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day are right around the corner. I love a good Valentine’s Day makeup palette and eye look, so I wanted to share some palettes that I think are perfect Valentine’s Day palettes. I love pinks, berries, reds, and I think these palettes really fit that theme. If you want to see some looks I create with these palettes, as well as some fun makeup tutorials, please follow my Instagram and Tik Tok! Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a…
