February Lipsticks of the Day

Lipsticks are one of my favorite makeup items. I love a neutral eye with a pop of color on the lips, or a bold eye look with a neutral lip. I also love a bold eye look with a colorful lip, or a neutral eye look with a neutral lip shade. My friend Priyanka and I (check out her beauty blog here) challenged ourselves in Feburary to share one lippie a day on Tik Tok. It was fun, challenging, and successful, and I thought I’d share them here also. I tried to include multiple brands, formulas, finishes, shades…

Lexington Bartending School

I recently attended a blogger event at Lexington Bartending School. We tried a few concoctions, and learned about the school. I posted a reel about the event on my Instagram, but I wanted to do a full post here as well. Plus, I love the pictures for this event, and wanted to share those as well as the videos (and all the yummy cocktail details). We tasted some surprising cocktails that were impressive and delightful, and gained some knowledge about cocktail making. First, let’s talk a little about the school. They tech bartending basics, preparing bartenders for employment…

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden is my favorite Galentine’s Day tradition. I’ve attended every year since they started hosting this event, and it’s always so much fun. This year, a few other local businesses in downtown Versailles also participated in some of the activities, so I’ll include those also. I met up with a couple of my blogger friends to celebrate, and we wandered around downtown exploring some of the local spots. If you want to check out my posts from previous years, the links are at the bottom of…

January Outfits

January is officially over, and I really tried to put some effort in last month. I know it’s a little cliche to get motivated and start the year out trying hard, but here we are. I really wanted to have fun with the month and challenge myself, and styling some cute outfits was one of those challenges. I’m just going to share photos here, but if you want outfit details (and links), I’ve tried to keep my LTK updated throughout the month, and as many pieces as possible are linked there (click here to…

New Year’s Eve at The Grove

Happy 2024! I’m a little late on this post, but it has already been a busy year. I wanted to share some pictures from my New Year’s Eve, and just talk a little about 2024 and my plans for the year. I had a blast on New Year’s Eve. I spent it at The Grove (one of my favorite spots in Lexington), with some of my blogger friends, and it was so lovely. 2023 was a rough year. I had Covid for a second time, we had a couple of holidays later than usual…

Bites of the Bluegrass Ouita Michel Tour

Ouita Michel is an award-winning chef. She owns and runs several local restaurants in the Lexington area (collectively called Holly Hill), and all are unique and interesting. I’ve been on a few Bites of the Bluegrass tours (check out this post to see my experience with the Bites of the Bluegrass Danville tour), and I recently had the pleasure of attending a tour of locations in the Midway and Versailles areas in Kentucky, sampling some Ouita Michel creations – The Just A Few Miles South Culinary Tour. Bites of the Bluegrass is one of my favorite experiences in…

Pickle Beer Rankings

Happy National Pickle Day! November 14 is National Pickle Day, and my little pickle loving heart couldn’t be happier. One pickly think I’ve found that I love is pickle beer. Pickle beer isn’t everyone’s taste. Some people love pickles, some people hate them, and some people are in between. I’m a self-proclaimed pickle queen (check out this post to see the Pickle Festival I attended last year), and absolutely adore pickles. I’ve tried several pickle beers, and will taste every one I can find. I wanted to…

Wendy’s Breakfast

This post is Sponsored by Wendy’s®. I’m not usually a big breakfast girl, but sometimes I need a little something to get me through themorning. Wendy’s® breakfast is perfect for me to pick up on my way into work. You can orderahead through the Wendy’s app so it’s ready when you get there, it’s easy to eat at my desk, and they use fresh products, such as fresh-cracked Grade A eggs, juicy chicken breast, andapplewood smoked bacon. I tried a few items from their menu (and spoiled my coworkers with a few others…

Apple Picking at Eckert’s Orchard

It’s apple season at Eckert’s Orchard, and I headed out over the weekend for some picking. They rotate through a variety of apples throughout the season, and you can pick whatever amount you want. I picked a full bag. I love snacking on apples, but they’re also great in pies. I love baking them in the air fryer for a sweet, yummy side dish that’s so easy. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to try, so if you have any good ones to share, please let me know…

Red River Gorge

I recently took a trip to Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky, and thought I’d share my experience. We stayed at a cute little cabin, ate some delicious food, had some great drinks, and explored a little bit of Kentucky, over the span of a couple of days. I’d only been to Red River Gorge once, to hike for my bestie’s birthday (check out my Hiking in Kentucky post to see details of my hiking adventures from the past few years), and the end result was gorgeous. I was excited to check out more…

The Grove – Lexington, KY

The Grove is a new-ish spot in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is an overall umbrella location that hosts several local businesses. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and I’ve been a few times since they opened. I wanted to share a little about this cute little area that I’ve come to really love. Full disclosure – they did invite me to be an ambassador for the business, but this post is not sponsored in any way, and all opinions are my own. Nate’s Hideaway Nate’s Coffee has been around in Lexington for…

Terra Moons Cosmetics Shadows

In 2022, I discovered duo and multi chrome eyeshadows, and dove right into exploring these beauties. I think I found Terra Moons Cosmetics on Instagram (follow me here, and Terra Moons Cosmetics here), and placed an order recently. They have a ton of single shadows available, and they all looked so gorgeous. I thought I’d share swatches of the shadows I ordered. Sometimes it’s really hard to tell in the pans what the shadows look like when they’re so shifty, so I hope this helps! Note: I tried to get different angles of the…

Galentine’s Day in Versailles

Happy Galentine’s Day! One of my favorite traditions is attending the annual Galentine’s Day in Versailles. The Amsden always hosts a big event, and it’s so fun. It’s full of activities, including DIY valentines, drink specials, a braid bar, and a permanent jewelry station. This year, a few other local businesses participated, and it was such a fun little girls’ day. If you’re here for the Galentine’s details, keep reading. If you’re here for the makeup + outfit details, scroll to the bottom of this post…

Valentine’s Day Palettes

Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day are right around the corner. I love a good Valentine’s Day makeup palette and eye look, so I wanted to share some palettes that I think are perfect Valentine’s Day palettes. I love pinks, berries, reds, and I think these palettes really fit that theme. If you want to see some looks I create with these palettes, as well as some fun makeup tutorials, please follow my Instagram and Tik Tok! Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a…

Taylor Swift Evermore Flannel 3 Ways

Happy Midnights release day! I’ve been so excited for this release, and I’m hoping it warms my little heart the way Folklore and Evermore did. If you’re a Swiftie too, you may have seen the Evermore inspired flannel that went a little viral. My bestie got it for me as a birthday present, so I’m sharing how to style the Taylor Swift Evermore flannel 3 ways. Flannels are one of my favorite Fall fashion items, and I love finding new ways to style them. I love that they’re pretty versatile…

The Big Dill Pickle Festival

I saw The Big Dill Pickle Festival on Tik Tok, and thought it looked like so much fun. I’m a big pickle girl (I’m that friend who will always take your extra pickles), so a whole festival dedicated to pickles?! Sign me up! When I found out it was my birthday weekend, I knew it was truly meant to be. I mentioned it to one of my best friends, Hannah, and she said she’d definitely join. So we bought the tickets, and headed out to Baltimore, Maryland over the weekend. What is The Big…

Danville, KY Food Tour

I’ve been to Danville, KY a few times, but it’s mostly been for softball tournaments. I haven’t really had much of a chance to explore the town and try some of the delicious food Danville has to offer (usually we only have a small amount of time to eat, and have a group of picky eaters that only want chicken tenders and burgers). I joined a walking Danville, KY Food Tour through Bites of the Bluegrass, and loved getting to explore the city and some of its tastes. We tried a variety of foods…

LiveWELL Fitness Personal Training Experience

I’ve attended a few personal training sessions at LiveWELL Fitness in downtown Lexington, and have really enjoyed the experience. They recently revamped their ownership, gym space, and overall training program. Co-owner and head trainer Keaton Jones is a Certified Personal Trainer, and my sessions with him have been a great experience that I wanted to share. I love that each session at LiveWELL is customized. You walk in, and there is a warm up and cool down for everyone, but your personal needs are assessed and there is a board detailed with a workout specifically for you…

Strawberry Picking at Eckert’s Orchard + Orchard Outfit

I took an adventure out to Eckert’s Orchard in Versailles last year to pick blackberries and peaches (you can check out my blog post about the experience here). I’ve been out several times since (even helping with the haunted trail in the fall), and it’s become one of my favorite spots. This week, I went out to pick strawberries, and loved it. Picking the Strawberries There are four types of strawberries planted at the farm at the moment. We picked Camarosa and Ruby June berries this week (I already taste tested a few, and…

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden is one of my favorite annual traditions. One of my favorite local coffee shops, The Amsden, always hosts a Galentine’s Day party. There are specials, special coffees, and vendors. It’s fun and festive, and always fun. It’s a great little girls’ day (ladies of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun). Outfit details are listed at the bottom of this post. Check out The Amdsen’s website here. Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive…

The Perfect Holiday Red Lip

The holidays are here, and a classic red lip is always in style. There are so many formulas and finishes for lipsticks, so I’m here to share some of my favorite red lipsticks to help you create the perfect holiday red lip. Most of these options are available at local retailers like Ulta and Sephora, so they should be available to snag before Christmas and New Years, and everything in between! I have quite a few red lipsticks in my collection, in different tones and finishes. Some have a creamy formula, some are glossy, and some are very…

September 2021 Ulta Fall Haul Sale

Ulta is currently having a Fall Haul sale, and there are some really good deals. I thought I’d share some of my recommendations. These are all products that I own/have owned, and love using. Ulta provides affordable options, as well as high end. These are definitely on the affordable side, which is always my preference. Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. Photos in this post…

Eckert’s Orchard + Orchard Outfit

Fresh fruit is one of my favorite things about Summer. If you’ve been here a while, you already know I’m a Fall girl, but fresh fruits and veggies are a huge bonus of the warmer months. Ripe peaches and blackberries are delicious, and I headed out to Eckert’s Orchard in Versailles to pick my own last week. Check out my photos and review of the orchard below, as well as my outfit details at the bottom of this post. The Orchard Eckert’s Orchard has rows and rows of berries and peaches ready…

It comes in a variety of different flavors ranging from different fruits to some hot and spicy flavors, as well. This post is a guest post from PepperJelly.com. No content was written by Kentucky Girl Ramblings. While also being a tasty and fun treat, pepper jelly has some health benefits that greatly help your body function! Here are just a few of them. 1.) Red Hearts Off-the-Shoulder Summer Dress

Summer is here, and the temperatures can’t really decide what they want. On hot days, I want to wear something light and airy. Sometimes I want to get dolled up and look pretty and girly, and a dress is the perfect way to do that. This is the cutest summer dress that’s going to be perfect for the heat. I don’t own much red, but I love the few red items I own. This dress is so pretty, and I love the heart pattern. It makes the dress really fun and girly, and I…

Spotted Maxi Skirt + Tie Shoulder Bodysuit

During the summer, I want outfits that are lightweight. Skirts and sleeveless shirts are great options, and I love a good combination of a maxi skirt and bodysuit. This outfit is perfect for summer, whether it’s for work or something more casual. All items linked here are from the same place, which makes for easy shopping too. Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. Bodysuits are…

Slytherin Inspired Olive Outfit

I’ve loved Harry Potter since I was younger. I started reading the books in third grade, right after the first book was released. I’m lucky to have found friends who also love Harry Potter. Every once in a while, we have HP movie nights, and they’re always a favorite of mine. Recently, I went to a movie night at my friend Amanda’s, so I wanted a Slytherin look. Olive is a very popular color right now, and it’s easy to put a Slytherin inspired outfit together. Some links on Kentucky…

Brewery Outfit + Braxton Brewing

I’ve visited Braxton Brewing in Covington a few times, and I’m always happy to return. The rooftop bar has such a great atmosphere, and I love the rooftop views of the area. Their beer is great (the Braxton Labs smoothies are my favorite). When I’m at a brewery, I prefer comfortable clothing, and this brewery outfit is perfect for an afternoon on a rooftop. Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my…

Hiking in Kentucky

I’ve wanted to get more into hiking. As someone who struggles with depression and low Vitamin D levels, being outside is important for my mental health. It’s also great for physical health, and I’m excited to find new areas of Kentucky to explore. I wanted to share my experiences, and some hiking photos for those looking for fun places in Kentucky for adventures. Taking my pup on hiking trips is also something I also want to do more, so I’m including what locations I’ve found are pet friendly, and which…

Black Head to Toe Outfit + Purple Makeup

All black is my favorite aesthetic. It’s my happy color, and it makes me feel like a queen. It’s officially Spring, but pastels aren’t really my thing. I’d rather pull out an all black outfit with a pop of color as eye makeup. I wore this outfit over the weekend, and it’s perfect for Spring. Peplum tops have become some of my favorites. This one is so comfortable. In true peplum top style, it’s tighter at the top, and flowy at the bottom. It’s really flattering…

2021 Project Pan

2021 has been here for a bit, so I want to restart my project pan series. I’ve done this in the past (check out this post for my 2018 project pan), and it really motivates me, so it’s something I want to continue. It really helps keep me on track to use up some of my makeup and skincare, which is always a good thing. Scroll to the bottom for a complete list of my previous project pan posts I know it’s already the end of February, but I’ve already been working…

Go Away Sweatshirt // Galentine’s Day Outfit

Galentine’s Day is Saturday, and Valentine’s Day is Sunday. If you’re a single pringle like me (or an introvert who just wants people to go away on a regular basis), no worries! You can still have fun and enjoy the holidays (especially Galentine’s Day – just make it all about your girls)! I found a fun sweatshirt that’ll be perfect for this weekend (and nice and warm)! The Outfit I love personalized things. This sweatshirt had “Go Away” as a suggested saying, and I thought it was hilarious…

Galentine’s Day Outfit + Galentine’s Day at The Amsden

Galentine’s Day is Saturday. If you’ve been here a while, you may have seen my previous Galentine’s Day at The Amsden post. It’s one of my favorite annual traditions, and the photo opportunities are always too good to pass up. The Amsden (the cutest little coffee shop located in Versailles, KY) is always decorated with so much creativity for holidays, and I love celebrating Galentine’s Day with friends. This year, I went with my friend Sara, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to wear a Valentine&#8217…

Black Friday 2020 Picks

Black Friday deals are here, and more are coming. I thought I’d share my top picks from some of my favorite places, and some deals too good to pass up. These are all my personal opinions and suggestions, and may not fit everyone’s tastes. I’ll try to keep this list updated with any great deals I find and love! Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links…

Dog Mom Gift Guide

Christmas is coming up, and a lot of Dog Moms like myself love getting gifts that include our pet. I’ve rounded up some amazing Dog Mom gifts (mostly from local shops) that I think any Dog Mom would love! Custom Pet Portrait It’s no secret that I think Remus is the cutest pup ever, so a custom portrait of him is so nice. Charissa created this adorable painting of Remus, and I love displaying it in my living room. A custom portrait would be a great gift for Dog Moms, and I love that this one…

Comfortable Thanksgiving Outfit

Thanksgiving is coming up, and things are very weird this year. Some families won’t be able to gather, which is sad and upsetting. Our own family Thanksgiving will be small this year. I know some people love dressing up for Thanksgiving, but I always prefer comfy outfits. Personally, I want to be able to eat without feeling constricted and self conscious. This year I think I’ve found the perfect Thanksgiving outfit. These leggings are perfect for Thanksgiving. They’re soft, stretchy, and the pumpkin pie pattern is so fun. They’re really cute, and…

My Laser Hair Removal Experience at Luxe Lounge MedSpa

Luxe Lounge MedSpa officially opened in July, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going and creating a partnership with them. I’ve had a couple of facials, a lash lift and tint, a brow tint, and, most recently, I’ve started laser hair removal treatments. I wanted to share my experience for anyone curious about the process of laser hair removal. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so excited to see the final results. Kentucky Girl Ramblings is occasionally gifted items to try and/or compensated…

Halloween Sweater Dress + OTK Boots

Halloween is ALMOST here, and I’m so excited. It’s my favorite day of the year (if you’ve been here a while you already know that. If you’re new here, hi and welcome!). 2020 is making Halloween less… thrilling this year, but I’m still excited for it (even if it’s just me hanging out with Remus in our Halloween pajamas at home). There are still fun ways to celebrate, including dressing for Halloween. This Halloween dress and OTK boot combo is perfect for making it feel like Halloween…

Black V-Neck Sweater + Purple Bralette

Fall is here and the temperatures have been perfect. I love a good Fall sweater, and off-the-shoulder is one of my favorite trends. Chunky sweaters are Fall staples for me, and I’ve found an amazing black sweater I had to share. This sweater is so cozy and warm. Chunky sweaters are perfect for Fall and the cooler temperatures. I want something that makes me want to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of coffee and my pup, and this sweater is it. You can save 15% on this sweater and your entire purchase…

Maroon Dress + Leopard Undershirt // Date Night Outfit

Maroon is one of my favorite colors for Fall, so when I saw this dress, I picked it up immediately. It’s a corduroy material, with tan buttons going down the middle. I’m collaborating with some other babes on Instagram to share date night outfits, and this outfit would be perfect for a Fall date night. This dress is so cute and comfortable. It would be really cute over a basic white or black turtleneck like this one, but I wanted something a little unique. This leopard print top is see through, which makes it a great…

OTK Boots + Green Peplum Top // Fall Outfit

Happy second day of Fall! And, happy 31st birthday to myself! Fall is my favorite time of the year, and maybe it’s because my birthday falls on the second day. I’m very excited that the weather is cooperating, and that means alllllll the Fall outfits! My bestie took me on a birthday date to Harkness Edwards Vineyards this weekend (thanks Jess, it was wonderful!), so I broke out my over the knee boots. I have wide calves, and I never thought I’d be able to find OTK boots that fit. However, I found this…

10 Favorite Fall Eyeshadow Palettes

Fall is almost here. Seriously, we’re under a week away. If you’ve been here a while, you know Fall is my favorite. If you’re new here, hi! Be ready to see a TON of Fall content. The weather is cooling down here in Kentucky, and my little heart is ready to come alive. Makeup is one of my passions, and Fall is really my time to shine with beauty knowledge (I am not an expert by any means, but happy to share what I know about what I love!). I’m sharing 10…

Edgy All Black Summer to Fall Outfit

Fall is so close I can smell it (seriously, pumpkin spice has started releasing and my heart is so happy). This week on Instagram, I’m partnering up with a few local blogger babes to share different outfits. We each have a different style, which is really fun! My friend Celeste (check out her blog here and Instagram here) asked me to participate, and let me know she thought I had an “edgy” style. Y’all, I’ve never heard my style defined as edgy before, but I’m here for it! All black…

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty – Fall 2020

Ulta Beauty released their schedule for Fall 2020’s Ulta 21 Days of Beauty. This year it will be August 30-September 19. Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale is usually a great time to pick up some new makeup and skincare. Products can be up to 50% off, and there are some great items available. Diamond and Platinum members receive free shipping on any beauty steal purchase during the sale, but all items are also available in stores while supplies last. Links included in this post are affiliate links. I do make a small commission on…

Ulta Beauty Harry Potter Collection

Ok, Ulta released a Harry Potter collection, and it combined two of my loves: Harry Potter and makeup. This collection is gorgeous, and I’m actually really impressed. I wanted to share some swatches and thoughts. I probably should have done this post earlier. All the palettes are already sold out, and I’m not sure if they’re coming back. I’ll be sure to link what I can and keep an eye out for rereleases. It’s only been three weeks since the whole set was released, which is crazy. They released a…

Pumpkin Spice + Dog Outfit

Happy PSL release day! Yes, I’ve been counting down to today. The PSL released today at Starbucks and of course, I am thrilled. And, of course, I picked one up before work this morning. Dunkin’ releleased theirs last week, but nothing comes close to the original PSL. So, I wanted to share the perfect outfit for picking up a PSL. There are two things I definitely love in life: pumpkin spice lattes… and Remus. Look at that handsome boy. Who couldn’t love that fluff?! This shirt combines my two loves… and it came…

Affordable Nordstrom Sale Alternatives

Ok y’all, it’s Nordstrom Sale time. Tomorrow, it will be open to the public, no matter the consumer’s status. This sale is controversial, and I really dislike the way they did the sale this year. It doesn’t benefit bloggers who can shop early OR consumers. I got almost everything I’d planned on (mostly because I didn’t want the “big” items – I got a pair of booties, a pair of hiking boots, a candle, and another pair of my favorite leggings), but a few items were…

Black Shorts + Black Off-the-Shoulder Tee

Summer weather is always interesting here in Kentucky. Some days, it’s in the 70’s, and some days it’s over 100. When it’s really hot, I prefer lightweight outfits like this one. Off the Shoulder tops are some of my favorites. I think they’re so pretty. This top has a ruffly edge on the neckline and the sleeves, which gives it some detail that I love. It’s also actually a bodysuit. Bodysuits are something I didn’t think I’d ever like on myself, but my mind…

Black + White Leopard Maxi Dress

Anyone else love a good maxi dress? I love the versatility. Work? Maxi dress. Wedding? Maxi dress. Brunch? Maxi dress. If you’ve been here a while, you also know I love me some leopard print (especially black and white leopard print). This leopard maxi dress has it all, and I’ve been really loving it this summer. Let’s be real, the best part about a maxi dress is not having to shave your legs, am I right? It’s such a hassle, and being able to still look nice and fancy without having to…

Business Casual Outfit // Blazer + Tank

Business Casual Outfit…

All Black Summer Outfit

It is HOT here in Kentucky. I love light outfits that are cute but work well with the weather. Being so fair, I burn easily. This makes hats the perfect accessory for summer. I’m sharing a cute summer outfit that’s all black (my fave), but still perfect for the heat. Cropped tees are really nice for this summer heat. I love a good cropped tee that’s long enough to not show skin, like this tee. It’s lightweight, casual, and has a cute pocket. I picked up these paperbag shorts at Target last…

Periwinkle Eyeshadow Tutorial

Sometimes I want a really intense makeup look. But sometimes, I want something simple. I love a good eye look that takes under 5 minutes and is really easy, but pretty. Simple looks can still look really nice. I also love eyeshadow that comes in single shadow form. So, I thought I’d share this periwinkle eye look that I’ve been loving. I LOVE that cool tones are coming into style. I’ve always been a fan of cool tones, but I think most people prefer warm tones. Cool tones are always my favorite. Maybe it…

Murderino Shirt + Red Skirt // Rackhouse Tavern at the Campbell House

Any other Murderinos out there? I’ve always loved true crime, and recently discovered the podcast “My Favorite Murder.” This tee is inspired by the podcast, and is so cute! “Stay Sexy, Don’t Get Murdered” is one of their catchphrases (they even have a book with this title available now). I love pairing a graphic tee with a skirt. I wore this outfit to a girls’ night dinner at The Rackhouse Tavern at The Campbell House (see the bottom of this post for photos of the delicious meal), and thought it was…

V-neck Leopard Midi Dress

Kentucky weather is weird y’all. It’s been 90-95 over the last week, but some days have been a high of 70. Typical. But that means I keep clothing around all the time of different sleeve lengths, because who knows what the weather will do. I actually pulled this leopard midi dress out recently, and I’m still loving it for cooler days. I’m a sucker for leopard print, always. I love the print on this dress. The cinched waist is very flattering, I love a good pair of block heels. These are…

Warm Toned Eyeshadow Look + Coral Lip

I know the weather is very confused as to what season it is, but it’s still Spring. I love a coral lip for the Spring and summer months, so I thought I’d share an easy Spring makeup look with a coral lip. I used to absolutely hate warm toned eye looks, but they’ve really grown on me. The palette I used for this look is only $3, and I will definitely pull out some warm toned looks for $3. The palette name is Pumpkin Pie, and that is DEFINITELY something I love. For this…

SHEIN Review

A friend recently messaged me and asked about SHEIN clothing. If you’ve been here a while, you’ve seen some of my SHEIN outfits. If you’re new here, first, welcome! Second, SHEIN is a clothing website providing low cost clothing. She said she was a little hesitant about ordering from them, but looked through my blog and saw some posts about SHEIN and had some questions for me. I wrote this post a couple of years ago, and just thought I’d update it with more recent info and photos. I’ve ordered…

Loungewear Under $30

It’s a scary time. Businesses are being shut down, the Corona virus is spreading, hand sanitizer, wipes, toilet paper, and food are all being wiped from the shelves. Many people (myself not included) are being forced to work from home. I thought I’d share some affordable loungewear to help being stuck at home a little more comfortable and enjoyable (if I was working from home I’d be living in loungewear). I asked on Instagram if loungewear posts were wanted, and the majority of answers were yes. I wanted to make sure this content was…

Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. Work outfits can be so fun. I love a good business casual outfit. If y’all have been here for a while, you know I love a good all black outfit. This outfit is a fun all black outfit that’s perfect for work. I love the scalloped detailing on this top. Scallops are some of my favorite details…

Newborn Photos

A friend asked me to take newborn pictures for her. Confession, y’all, I was really nervous. I’ve never taken newborn pictures before, so I definitely had some research to do. But also, I’m not big on babies and children. I’m much better around dogs and other furry creatures. But, I’m always willing to try something new, so I told her yes. The feet were the hardest thing to capture. Babies are wiggle worms! But, we got a couple of great feet shots and I think they turned out so cute…

Black & White Plaid Dress + Belted Vest

Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. This winter has been weird. Parts of it have been really warm, and parts of it have been really cold. Layers are a great option for these colder months. I love this dress for winter. I love plaid (if you’ve been following me for a while you may remember this buffalo plaid outfit that’s still a favorite…

Shared Planet Polar Bear Palette (Review, Swatches, + 3 Looks)

Happy International Polar Bear Day! Polar bears are my favorite animals, so when I found a polar bear themed eyeshadow palette… well, I snatched that up. I’ve wanted to post about this palette for a while, and I figured today was the perfect day. I LOVE this palette. It quickly became a favorite. I’ve always preferred cool tones, and this palette definitely contains cool tones. Pinks, greys, purples, my heart! The color scheme for this palette is right up my alley. I love that the shade names actually fit this palette really well. There are…

Black Heart Sweater + Black Midi Skirt

Valentine’s Day is over, but I love Valentine’s Day ish outfit pieces that can be worn over and over. I love pretty sweaters that serve a specific purpose, but are also very versatile. Versatility is partially why I picked this sweater. It’s so cute for winter and spring, and not just Valentine’s Day. It…

My Dairy Free Favorites

For 2020, I didn’t do resolutions. I set a few small goals, some for months and some for the year. One goal I had for January was to cut out dairy 3 days a week. I haven’t been diagnosed as being lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy, but I have talked to my doctor about it and cut out dairy in the past and can tell a difference when I cut out dairy. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite dairy substitutions that I found in January. Dairy Free Smoked Gouda Style Slices These…

Grumpy Cat Galentine’s Day Outfit

Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. I can’t believe it’s already February. For some, it means Valentine’s Day. For us single pringles, it means Galentine’s Day. I went to a Galentine’s Day themed brunch at a friend’s last week, and I wanted to wear a really cute outfit… and I think I succeeded! I…

Black Heart Sweater

Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. I mentioned in my last post that I joke that I have a black heart. Well… this sweater is perfect for showing that off. I think it’s hilarious, and perfect for Galentine’s Day. This sweater comes in different color options, but I loved the black heart for Galentine’s Day. I mean, it would be…

Red + Pink Valentine’s / Galentine’s Day Sweater

Some links on Kentucky Girl Ramblings accounts may be affiliate links for which I receive a commission for your click-through and/or purchase. Links that are provided throughout my website may be affiliate links without being expressed. Ok y’all, Valentine’s Day is coming up QUICKLY. I know ladies are already planning their outfits. I’m not concerned about Valentine’s Day (single pringle here), but I do have some Galentine’s Day plans. I’ve had this sweater for a while, but it’s so cute for Galentine’s…

Leopard Pants + Black Peplum Top

Kentucky has been in a weird weather phase lately. We call it Fool’s Spring. It’s been pretty warm for winter, but it’s still chilly enough for long sleeves. It’s cold right now, but warmth is coming back soon (I think). I’ve been loving it, and it’s been fun for my wardrobe. I love work outfits that can transition to great post-work outfits, so comfort is key. The main focus of this outfit is the leopard pants. I was nervous to try these on, but once I did…

Colourpop Pink + Purple Eye Look

I received the Colourpop It’s a Princess Thing palette for Christmas last year. It quickly became a favorite of mine. I enjoy warm tones throughout the Fall and on occasion, but I definitely prefer cool tones. I’m sharing a look I wore to brunch. I think it’s so pretty, and would be great for Valentine’s Day. First, I applied my Milani eye primer. This is such a great primer, and it’s so affordable. I set my primer with the shade Chip from the Princess Palette. Next I put the shade…

Leopard Sherpa

How much leopard is too much leopard? I’m going with Mean Girls and saying the limit does not exist. Leopard print that’s also really comfy, is definitely a win. I love the idea of sherpas, but I feel like sometimes they can be a little TOO fluffy. I found one that I really love. It’s a little more thin than most sherpas I’ve found, but it’s still really warm and comfortable. I picked this up at Em & Me, the boutique in Georgetown I love. I’ve mentioned them…

Green Winter Dress

Most of my family was sick last week, so we had to postpone Christmas until yesterday. This look was also supposed to go live before Christmas, but, here we are. I still think this is a really gorgeous dress for winter, so I still wanted to share it. Just pretend the Christmas tree isn’t in the background and that it’s a basic tree instead. This dress is really comfortable. It’s cinched a little at the waist, which I think is really flattering. I cinched it a little more with a wide belt from my…

Black + Gray Off-the-Shoulder Sweater

Winter is all about being cozy. I love comfortable clothing that still looks really pretty. I found a gorgeous off-the-shoulder sweater that is VERY cozy, but definitely looks pretty. This sweater is a little oversized, which is very on trend right now. I love that it is oversized, but isn’t really bulky. The gray and black is really pretty together, and of course, it’s a color scheme I love. This sweater is great with jeans or leggings. I wore it to work on a jeans day, and it’s gorgeous. I wore it…

Sparkly Leggings – Comfy NYE Outfit

2019 is almost over, and I’m ready for 2020. I already have some plans for 2020 and I am so glad 2019 is ending. I’m ready to celebrate the end of the year with style… and comfort. It hasn’t really felt like Christmas to me yet. My parents have both been sick so we had to postpone our Christmas with the family. Now my niece is sick too, and I have pink eye. I’m ready for 2020 to begin and bring some better things for us with it. Of course New…

How to Dress Up a Plaid Shirt for the Holidays

I LOVE flannel. Love it. Buffalo plaid, yes please! BUT, I am not exclusive with my love of plaid. Any type of plaid goes. I have a few plaid shirts that I really love, and I love to style them different ways. Dressing it up is so easy and cute and fun, and it’s a great look for the holidays. This plaid shirt is so amazing. It has a “no gap snap”, which I am here for. Us larger chested ladies often have problems with button down shirts gaping open, and this shirt has a solution…

Coziest Chenille Sweater

Ok y’all, I’ve been away for a while. I’m moving, and the process has taken a while (it’s still not over but we’re getting closer!). I wanted to focus more on that and less on blogging. BUT I’m back (for now), and wanted to share the SOFTEST sweater. I’ve talked about Em + Me, a local boutique in Georgetown, on the blog a few times. Their clothing is really cute, and is generally pretty affordable. I stopped by this past weekend to browse, and I found the…

Grey Colorblock Sweater + Floppy Hat

Sweather Weather is in full swing, and I am loving it. I love a good, thick, warm, cozy sweater in the Fall. Fall weather puts me in my element, and it’s when I absolutely thrive. I’ve found the perfect Fall sweater, and it’s the softest, coziest sweater out there. This sweater is so amazing. I posted the same one last week in this post, but in solid black. I LOVE this grey, black and white colorblock option. It’s so pretty, and definitely my colors. The sweater is so cute with leggings, but…

Hello Pumpkin Tee + Leopard Skirt // Fall Collab

Fall was in full effect this weekend, and my little heart was so happy. Fall fashion this year is so good, and I’m here to share two of my favorite pieces I’ve been wearing. I’ve also partnered with some of the Lex Blogger Fam to share some other Fall ideas. Tif from Bright on a Budget is sharing a Fall outfit, Leela from Lex Eats is sharing a Fall cookie recipe, and Emily from Gathered Living is sharing a Fall cheeseboard idea. I love a good graphic tee. This hello pumpkin tee is so…

Fall Outfit Featuring Nightmare Before Christmas Leggings + a Halloween Purse

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies. It’s so fun for Halloween. Lularoe released some previous collections featuring NBC, and I snagged some. I pulled them back out this year for a simple Fall outfit. I paired these fun patterned leggings with a basic grey tank I’ve been loving this summer. It ties in the front, which I think is really cute. I wanted to really accent the leggings, so a simple grey shirt seemed like a good choice. The real star of this outfit is the purse. I think it’s…

Revlon Straightening Hair Dryer Review (One-Step Paddle Dryer)

I was in the market for a new hair dryer. My hair is thick and naturally curly, and takes forever to blow dry. I had seen reviews for the Revlon One-Step Volumizer hair dryer, and I was intrigued. But THEN I saw the Revlon One Step Paddle dryer, and I was REALLY intrigued. I purchased it a few months ago, and have been trying it out. Since there aren’t many reviews out there on it, I figured I’d share mine! For a little reference: my hair is VERY thick. It’s naturally curly. I…

Sleepy Hollow Outfit + My Favorite (On Theme) Pumpkin Beer

Is it clear by now that I love Halloween? If not, let this post sum that up. The Headless Horseman has always been fascinating to me. I went to Sleepy Hollow in 2012 and it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited (you’ll find me there next year the week of Halloween). I love everything to do with Sleepy Hollow. So, of course, I found the perfect outfit that fits the Headless Horseman theme. This shirt has been around a while, and I love it. Character names in this form have been trending…

Rachel Green Inspired Outfit

Rachel Green will forever be a style icon. In the 90’s, the “Friends” character dominated the fashion world. 90’s style is definitely making a comeback, and Rachel Green’s style is something I love to look to for inspiration… which is how this outfit came about. I saw these plaid shorts, and they instantly reminded me of Rachel Green. She wore them with tights, which I would never think to do. These shorts were the inspiration for this total Rachel Green look. Rachel definitely wore black boots frequently. I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of…

Hocus Pocus Lizzo Shirt

Last week, I posted my outfit from a Lizzo concert that I loved. I’m continuing my Lizzo love this week with an adorable shirt that’s perfect for Fall… because it’s also Hocus Pocus themed! Hocus Pocus isn’t just one of my favorite Halloween movies. It’s one of my favorite movies in general. I’ll watch it year-round. I was even Winifred for Halloween a few years ago (I’ll post a photo at the bottom of this post)! I’ve been tagged in similar shirts…

Orange Fall Dress + Leopard Flats

Hi, I’m Courtney, and I love affordable fashion and Fall. This outfit combines those things, and I love it. Walmart has seriously stepped up their style game. I’ve seen fashion bloggers doing sponsored posts saying this, but the outfits they’ve linked are $100 ish. That’s not me y’all. I like truly affordable fashion, and $100 for a basic outfit is not affordable in my opinion. I’m back in the same $10 Walmart dress I’ve been wearing over and over, but in a different color! They&#8217…

I Just Want to Pet Dogs & Drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes

It’s here! PSL has officially launched at Starbucks. Pumpkin spice has been out at Dunkin and other local coffee shops, but the original is BACK as of today! I found the perfect shirt for PSL release date… so of course Remus joined me for a little photo shoot. This shirt was made for me. I think it’s so cute and quirky. Such a fun little shirt. I walked into Starbucks this morning with this shirt, and the barista said, “I guess you want a pumpkin spice latte.” Why yes, yes I do. I…

Purple Cardigan + Leopard Print // Fall Outfit

Fall is almost here! We’ve had some cooler weather lately, and my little heart is so happy. I’m so ready for sweaters, boots, Fall decor, and all things Halloween. I love sprucing up an all black outfit with a pop of color. I’ve talked about that in numerous outfit posts. This purple cardigan is cute, affordable, and it such a pretty color for Fall. It’s different than tones I usually think of for Fall, but I think it’s really nice, and different can be a really good thing! I threw…

Expectations on Women

My friend Lindsay (of Bourbon and Lipstick) started a podcast, Influenced the Podcast, with another blogger, Christine. I’ve really been enjoying it, and highly highly recommend it. Their latest topic was expectations on women. They put out a survey asking what expectations women have, and I wanted to discuss some of my thoughts on the questions asked in the survey, specifically the pressures of being single and having children. I’m not going to discuss every question in the survey, just ones that really hit me hard. Things are going to get a little personal in here…

Orange Tank + Leopard Cardigan // Fall Outfit

Leopard is definitely a big trend this year, and I am absolutely here for it. This is one trend coming back from the 90’s that I can get behind. Maybe it’s my forever love for Shania Twain that will also keep my leopard love alive. I wore this outfit to work, and had so many compliments all day. My favorite response is always “It’s from Walmart.” Walmart has stepped up their game so much lately, and this cardigan is so amazing. The leopard print is in right now, and it’s…

All About Single Shadows

Single shadows are some of my favorite eyeshadows. I love having the ability to customize a palette, and build a collection customized to my own style. It’s a great way to try out a brand without spending a ton of money, or add just one color to your collection that you’ve been wanting to try. I’ll list some of my favorite companies that carry single shadows at the bottom of this post, as well as some companies I want to try. I’ve tried a few single shadows from some companies, and bundles…

How to Throw Your Dog a Gotcha Day Party

It’s National Love Your Pet Day, and I think it’s no secret that I adore my little Border Collie. He’s so stinking rotten, and I wouldn’t have him any other way (but I mean, can you blame me? That sweet little face is a heart melter). His Gotcha Day was in January, and I threw him a little Gotcha Day party. He was found abandoned on the side of the road, so I don’t know his birthday. I know it’s around November, according to vet records. So, of…
