Go Away Sweatshirt // Galentine’s Day Outfit

Galentine’s Day is Saturday, and Valentine’s Day is Sunday. If you’re a single pringle like me (or an introvert who just wants people to go away on a regular basis), no worries! You can still have fun and enjoy the holidays (especially Galentine’s Day – just make it all about your girls)! I found a fun sweatshirt that’ll be perfect for this weekend (and nice and warm)!

The Outfit

I love personalized things. This sweatshirt had “Go Away” as a suggested saying, and I thought it was hilarious (I also thought about having it just say “no”). It definitely fits my personality (whether single or taken), and it’s a funny take on a holiday that can really affect people in a negative away. Sometimes the best way to cope is through humor, and I thought this shirt was perfect for that.

It’s going to be a chilly weekend here in Kentucky, so a sweatshirt is the perfect option (I wore it over this really cute lips shirt in case I got hot and wanted to cool off a bit… which I did). I wore this outfit last weekend to Harkness Edwards, a local winery, for a wine tasting. I wanted to dress the shirt up a little, so I went with my (usual and favorite) leggings, and over-the-knee boots. The boots also added a little warmth, which made this outfit perfect for a chilly weekend. I love my OTK boots (see how I’ve styled them previously in this post and this post) – they’re curvy girl friendly and so comfortable.

This sweatshirt is such a fun take on the “Go Away” phrase. To me, it says “go away, but tell me I’m cute first”. It’s fun and cutesie, and perfect for introverts (cough cough, me). I like the girliness and sassiness of Galentine’s Day – and of this sweatshirt. It’s a great way to uplift the spirits of anyone who may be struggling with Valentine’s Day and being single.

The Accessories

I always love accessories, and these heart + arrow earrings are so cute. I love that they’re perfect for year-round use, and aren’t really Galentine’s Day / Valentine’s Day specific. They’re very girly and fun, and I’ve had quite a few compliments on them. They’re on sale right now, so definitely snag them for this coming weekend!

I’ve been loving this red quilted crossbody. It’s a gorgeous color, and under $15. The chain is really nice, and I love that it can adjust from a crossbody to a shorter chained handbag. It’s small, but still holds quite a bit. It’s nice for a casual bag when you don’t need to carry any larger items (making it a great option for date night).

This makeup look is the same one I used in my Galentine’s Day at The Amsden post, and I love it. This palette (conveniently called the Love Palette) is so pretty and easy to use. It’s perfect for creating pink, purple, and red looks that go so well with any Valentine’s Day themed outfits. It also pairs very well with this lippie (shade On A Mission). I love this lip shine that lasts all day (an excellent choice for a wine tasting event) and comes in so many beautiful colors.

Harkness Edwards

I’ve been to Harkness Edwards Vineyards a few times (I hosted a HalloWINE blogger event there a couple of years ago – check out this post to see pictures of me and the pup dressed as Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, as well as some local blogger babes + friends dressed for Halloween), and it’s always a treat. Their wines are delicious (Big Red is one of my favorite wines of all time). A wine tasting is affordable, and always a fun idea for a girls’ day – perfect for Galentine’s Day.

The scenery at Harkness Edwards is so gorgeous. You drive in and see the vines for the grapes, and the drive toward The Peach House for tastings. There is a large outdoor space that’s absolutely beautiful, and perfect for outdoor gatherings (great for COVID-friendly outings). I love heading out there in warmer weather for events they regularly host (FYI, they’re dog friendly, so it’s a great place to take your pups too! Remus LOVES going out there!).

I went last weekend with my friend Sara for a friendship date. We’ve been there together a couple of times for wine tastings and a cookie decorating class. The cheese board is a great addition to the wine tasting (my favorites are the Mama Mia cheese, and the Sassy redhead… for obvious reasons). I highly recommend adding it for a little extra happiness during the experience.
