Project Pan 2019 6 Month Update

I can’t believe it’s already July! That means it’s already time for a 2019 Project Pan update! And y’all, it’s a good one. Last year at this time, I was stressing. I had barely completed any of my panning goals. But this year, I have a TON of progress, and that makes me so happy! If you want to see my intro post, check it out here!

Let’s start with the items I’ve panned or finished. I finished two primers completely: the NYX Hydra Touch primer and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Both of these products are great. I have other primers to use, so I won’t be repurchasing them any time soon, but I definitely would consider it in the future.

I finished my Revlon eyeliner pretty quickly. I didn’t have much when I started the project, but it was finished in about a month. The NYX brow pencil was also finished in about a month. I have a few other brow products I’m working through, so I was excited to finish this one.

I “finished” all three mascaras in my project. They were all on the end of their lifespans, and they were all losing quality, so I’m calling them done.

My L’oreal Lumi foundation is one of my favorites, and I’m sad about losing it, because it’s not cruelty free so I won’t be repurchasing it. I stopped using it when it was a little below that bottom mark. It was starting to smell a little funky, so I think it’s expired, so I went ahead and called it complete. But I did make progress on it so I’m happy with it. I also finished the Becca primer. It wasn’t my favorite, but it did add a nice sheen to my skin.

I finished four primers/setting sprays. All of these were finished pretty quickly. I didn’t have much left in any of them except the larger Primer Water, so they were pretty easy to use up.

Ignore the Bare Minerals foundation. I finished up the Baby Skin primer. I love this primer and I’m sad it’s not cruelty free. It’s a pretty good dupe for the Benefit Porefessional primer. I have a couple of smaller samples of that, so I won’t necessarily need the Maybelline primer, but I do really enjoy it. I use it on my nose and right around my nose to “blur” my pores.

None of my highlighters or my contour powders (the NYX blush) are completely finished, but I have made progress on all of them, so I’m happy. I honestly don’t know if any of them will be complete by the end of the year, but as long as I have progress I’m happy. I’d like to hit side pan on the contour powder. I think I’m going to try to repress the L’oreal highlighter. I’m into the sides of all the colors, but I really prefer using them together. I’m hoping repressing it will make it a little more usable.

I did hit pan on two of the shadows in my Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette. Stark and Frisk have pans, so I’m happy. I have use on all the other shadows, but these two definitely have pan. I plan on still expanding the pans throughout the year, but I’m going to move this product out of this project. I hit my goal of hitting pan, so I’m happy. I will be replacing this with a couple of other palettes, which I’ve included a little further down in this post.

I hit pan on my ELF powder pretty quickly. I’ve expanded that pan into the second ring, but I don’t reach for this very often. I’ve used it more this summer, but my skin is dry, so it’s not something I use all the time. I like it for setting my concealer under my eyes, but it doesn’t do much for me.

Now for the products I’m still working on to hit my goal. My Mac Fix + is ALMOST done. It’s so close. It’s at the bottom mark. I only use this to foil shadows, so it’s taking a while to use, but I think it’s going to be finished very soon.

One product I feel like I’ve made zero progress on is my Hourglass blush. Oh my goodness. I’ve used this so much, and I can’t see any progress. At all. It seems like there’s the same amount of product as there was when it was brand new.

I haven’t been working on my Smashbox primer either. It’s similar to the Maybelline primer. Now that that’s finished, I’ll probably work more on the Smashbox primer.

There’s a HUGE dip in my Catrice concealer. I feel like I’m getting close to hitting pan, but I can’t really be sure.

I haven’t been reaching for my L’oreal True Match foundation either. It’s definitely better for me in the summer, because it’s a little thicker, but in the summer I usually want more of a BB or CC cream, with a lighter coverage. I can’t see the amount of progress in this foundation, So I can’t really measure my progress. I need to make myself use it.

As I mentioned with the NYX brow pencil, I have a few brow products I’m trying to use up. I haven’t been focusing on my Benefit Kabrow, even though I love it. I’m very close to hitting pan. I have one more brow pencil I’m very close to using up, so once that’s finished I’ll be focusing more on my Kabrow.

I’m not sure how much progress I have on my NYX brow mascara. The edges of the bottle are coated in the mascara, so I can’t see inside it. But, I have been using it, so I think I’m just going to use it until the end of the year or until it starts to be not as effective as it is currently.

Honestly, I lost my MUFE eyeliner for a while. I rediscovered it so I’m still working on it. At least I can see some progress on it even though it was MIA for a while. When I’m self tanned, my Essence concealer is too light for me, so I haven’t been using it as much lately. It’s about halfway done, so I’m happy with it. I’m going to continue working on it and hopefully it will be used up pretty quickly. I definitely think it will be easier to use in the Fall and Winter.

I mentioned that I was moving the UD palette out of my project pan to focus on others. A little sneak peak into my bonus project pan: I’ve hit pan on two shadows in my Gwen Stefani palette. I have big dips on a few other shades, so I’m going to add this palette into this project. Anaheim and Stark are both close to pan, I THINK. these pans are pretty deep, but I definitely think it’s possible to hit pan on these by the end of the year. This is such a beautiful neutral palette, and I really enjoy using it.

Another neutral palette I love is this Studio Makeup palette I received in a Boxycharm box. It’s so gorgeous. It’s full of cool tone neutrals, which are my preference. I can create a simple neutral look, but it also has shadows that make smokey looks really easy. I have dips in some of the shadows, so I want to add this product into this project. I would consider repurchasing this palette in the future if I used it completely. It’s such great quality.

Two more replacement products I’m adding in are the Lorac eyeliner and the L’oreal Brow pencil. Both of these are pretty close to being done, so I really want to focus on these. I used up the eyeliner and brow pencil that were in this project, so I want to replace those and focus on similar products.

That’s it until December! I can’t wait to see my progress at the end of the year. Last year I had a Bonus project pan at the end of the year. This year, I have a surprising amount of bonus products already, so I’m going to do a first have bonus project pan post, as well as a second half bonus project pan post. Stay tuned for those! I also have a Harry Potter Project Pan going on that will be finished at the end of this month, so stay tuned for that!
