Summer is here, and the temperatures can’t really decide what they want. On hot days, I want to wear something light and airy. Sometimes I want to get dolled up and look pretty and girly, and a dress is the perfect way to do that. This is the cutest summer dress that’s going to be perfect for the heat.

I don’t own much red, but I love the few red items I own. This dress is so pretty, and I love the heart pattern. It makes the dress really fun and girly, and I love that. Off-the-shoulder is one of my favorite styles (see other off-the-shoulder styles I’ve worn in this post and this post). It’s sexy, but not TOO sexy. I wore this dress to dinner with a friend, but it would be a perfect summer dress for a date night.

I want to wear my hair down all summer, but the heat says absolutely not. An updo is usually my summer style (for this look, I just dutch braided my hair back into a low bun).

Accessories are, of course, a great way to spice up an outfit. I love these heels from Target. They’re really comfortable (you can actually size down in them for the perfect fit), and they’re not so tight that they make your feet hot. They’re the perfect addition to a cute summer dress. I’ve also been loving these little chain earrings. They’re small and dainty, but just enough extraness for me to love them.

This outfit was perfect for a casual dinner. My friend Alex and I headed over to East End Tap and Table, and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re in the lexington area, they’re worth checking out. I had the salmon and brussels sprouts, and they were so, so good. The watermelon margaritas were worth the dinner just on their own. Plus, they pair very well with the dress!
