What’s In My Work Makeup Bag

I don’t always do my makeup at home. Sometimes my mornings are rushed, and I do part (or all) of my makeup on my breaks at work. I keep a makeup bag at my desk. If I need to just do a quick eye look, or a full makeup look, I’m prepared. You never know when someone will unexpectedly ask you to do something after work unexpectedly (I’ve literally bought concert tickets the DAY OF, and had to try to get ready).

I’ve partnered with Begin Magic to show what’s in my work makeup bag. They sent me my PERFECT makeup bag. I can’t wait to travel with this. I love that it has sections, making it easy to pack makeup. I really love that it has a section for brushes. I hate having to pack two makeup bags (one for makeup and one for brushes). This bag makes it so easy to pack both in one bag. It also has a zipper on the lid, which is perfect for palettes.

First, I have face products. I have the original Smashbox primer. It’s a deluxe sample size and one of my favorites. I also have the Urban Decay eye primer, which I really love.

I LOVE the Catrice Camouflage cream concealer. I struggle with acne, and this has great coverage for that. I definitely have to keep that at my desk. It’s discontinued now, but it’s available in liquid form. I keep the Physician’s Formula CC cream for a foundation. It gives light coverage, but still makes my skin look really nice. It’s great for summer. I also keep the ELF setting powder. During the summer, my face can use some extra setting, and this is great for my skin when I’m at my fairest. I don’t think it makes my face look powdery or cakey, which is important to me.

I don’t always do a full face of makeup. But, there are times when I’m doing something after work that I like to look extra nice for. If I do a full face of makeup, I like to have some of my favorite products. I have a Wet N Wild bronzer in my Harry Potter project pan, so that’s in my work bag. I hit pan on my NYX blush in Taupe, which I use as a contour powder, last year. It’s in my 2019 project pan, so I keep it in my work bag to make sure I’m getting use out of it. My Hourglass blush in mood exposure is also in my project pan. I like having it in my work makeup bag, because it’s such a beautiful blush. It looks so beautiful on my skin, and it’s great for any look.

The Fenty highlighter duo is in my Harry Potter project pan too. Spoiler alert, I hit pan. It’s so nice to have if I want a simple look that’s easy and gorgeous. I have a couple of highlighter options. The Fenty highlighters can be used as highlighters, even though I usually use them as eyeshadows. I also have the L’oreal Lumi highlighter. I think it’s gorgeous. I also like including the Soph x Revolution highlighter palette. This has shades that work for me whether I’m fair or self tanned. I don’t have to worry about switching my highlighters out. I love having different tones also, because it gives me options no matter what shade my skin is at the moment.

I’m working on a few brow products. The L’oreal brow pencil, NYX brow mascara, and Benefit KaBrow are some of my favorites. I’m working on using all these up, so in my work bag they stay. Sometimes I switch my eyeliner up. I like gel type pencil liners, and sometimes felt tip liners, so I have both options in my work bag. I love the Lorac liner (it’s a deluxe sample. Not sure where I picked it up but I really like it) and the Jordana felt tip liner.

Eyeshadows are probably my favorite makeup products. I feel like they give me the most creative freedom. In my work makeup bag, I have the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette, the NYX warm neutrals, and the Huda Mauve Obsessions palette. The Gwen Stefani is such a gorgeous neutral palette. I know a lot of people didn’t care for it, and it’s no longer available, but it’s beautiful and I really enjoy it. It’s great for neutral looks. I’ve hit pan on one shade, and I’m close to hitting pan on a few other shades.

The NYX warm neutral palette is so pretty. I don’t lean toward warm shades typically, but I like having those options. I really love using them when I’m self tanned, and in the Fall. This palette gives me neutral and warm options, and I can come up with some basic but really nice looks with it.

The Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette is so pretty. Pinks and purples are some of my favorite shadows, and this palette gives me a good variety. I can come up with a pretty, cool, neutral look, or I can create something dramatic. I love that the mattes and the shimmers are all great quality shadows, so creating looks with this palette is easy.

I keep a shadow sponge in my work makeup bag. I do try to wash my makeup brushes that I keep at my desk on a pretty regular basis, but it’s not as frequent as my brushes I keep in my vanity at home. So, a makeup brush cleaning sponge is great. It helps me get my brushes pretty clean, allowing me to use them for multiple looks without having to deep clean them.

I keep a few brushes at my desk. I have a powder brush, a bronzer brush, a contour and highlighter duo brush, and a blush brush. I also use the AOA makeup brush set, and I keep that at my desk also.

I really love this makeup bag. It’s a great size, and it’s affordable. It makes organizing my desk makeup so easy. It’s also sturdy, so I don’t have to be concerned about my makeup breaking. I really can’t wait to travel with it. It’s perfect for my needs.
