The Grove is a new-ish spot in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is an overall umbrella location that hosts several local businesses. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and I’ve been a few times since they opened. I wanted to share a little about this cute little area that I’ve come to really love. Full disclosure – they did invite me to be an ambassador for the business, but this post is not sponsored in any way, and all opinions are my own. Harvey’s Bar Harvey’s has a really nice list of cocktails…
I saw The Big Dill Pickle Festival on Tik Tok, and thought it looked like so much fun. I’m a big pickle girl (I’m that friend who will always take your extra pickles), so a whole festival dedicated to pickles?! Sign me up! When I found out it was my birthday weekend, I knew it was truly meant to be. I mentioned it to one of my best friends, Hannah, and she said she’d definitely join. So we bought the tickets, and headed out to Baltimore, Maryland over the weekend. What is The Big…
I’ve been to Danville, KY a few times, but it’s mostly been for softball tournaments. I haven’t really had much of a chance to explore the town and try some of the delicious food Danville has to offer (usually we only have a small amount of time to eat, and have a group of picky eaters that only want chicken tenders and burgers). I joined a walking Danville, KY Food Tour through Bites of the Bluegrass, and loved getting to explore the city and some of its tastes. We tried a variety of foods…
I took an adventure out to Eckert’s Orchard in Versailles last year to pick blackberries and peaches (you can check out my blog post about the experience here). I’ve been out several times since (even helping with the haunted trail in the fall), and it’s become one of my favorite spots. This week, I went out to pick strawberries, and loved it. Picking the Strawberries There are four types of strawberries planted at the farm at the moment. We picked Camarosa and Ruby June berries this week (I already taste tested a few, and…
A new up and coming food, Pepper Jelly, is a great addition to a variety of meals or snacks. It comes in a variety of different flavors ranging from different fruits to some hot and spicy flavors, as well. This post is a guest post from PepperJelly.com. No content was written by Kentucky Girl Ramblings. While also being a tasty and fun treat, pepper jelly has some health benefits that greatly help your body function! Here are just a few of them. 1.) Helps Get Your Day Started A scoop or two of pepper jelly is a great morning…
Galentine’s Day is Saturday, and Valentine’s Day is Sunday. If you’re a single pringle like me (or an introvert who just wants people to go away on a regular basis), no worries! You can still have fun and enjoy the holidays (especially Galentine’s Day – just make it all about your girls)! I found a fun sweatshirt that’ll be perfect for this weekend (and nice and warm)! The Outfit I love personalized things. This sweatshirt had “Go Away” as a suggested saying, and I thought it was hilarious…
Any other Murderinos out there? I’ve always loved true crime, and recently discovered the podcast “My Favorite Murder.” This tee is inspired by the podcast, and is so cute! “Stay Sexy, Don’t Get Murdered” is one of their catchphrases (they even have a book with this title available now). I love pairing a graphic tee with a skirt. I wore this outfit to a girls’ night dinner at The Rackhouse Tavern at The Campbell House (see the bottom of this post for photos of the delicious meal), and thought it was…
For 2020, I didn’t do resolutions. I set a few small goals, some for months and some for the year. One goal I had for January was to cut out dairy 3 days a week. I haven’t been diagnosed as being lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy, but I have talked to my doctor about it and cut out dairy in the past and can tell a difference when I cut out dairy. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite dairy substitutions that I found in January. Dairy Free Smoked Gouda Style Slices These…
Is it clear by now that I love Halloween? If not, let this post sum that up. The Headless Horseman has always been fascinating to me. I went to Sleepy Hollow in 2012 and it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited (you’ll find me there next year the week of Halloween). I love everything to do with Sleepy Hollow. So, of course, I found the perfect outfit that fits the Headless Horseman theme. This shirt has been around a while, and I love it. Character names in this form have been trending…
Summer is here, and that means picnics and bonfires and cookouts. With the 4th being this week, plenty of cookouts are coming. If you’re looking for an easy recipe that’s absolutely delicious, check out this pasta salad! First, cook the pasta per the directions on the box and let it completely cool. I used tricolor rotini, but you can use any kind of pasta. Next, add Italian dressing and Ranch dressing, as well as a can of diced tomatoes. Next, cut Pepperoni into pieces. You can add as many or as few as you’d…
