A year ago, I made a life changing decision. I’ve never had the urge to be a mom, unless it was to a furry little creature with four legs and a tail. I’ve always known being a dog mom is my true calling. My friend Brooke knew I’d been thinking about getting a puppy, and she told me she knew of someone giving one away. They’d found him on the side of the road on New Year’s Eve, and had taken him in. I sent the lady a message, and went to look at the little furball.

As soon as I met him, I knew he was coming home with me. He was the cutest, fluffiest, sweetest little baby. I was smitten. I took him home that night, along with a free cage, a bag of food, a blanket, and some toys, all of which I was very grateful for. I took him to my parents’ house, so he could meet his grandma and grandpa and great grandma. I took him home after, and he snuggled up with me and fell asleep.

Yesterday marks a year that I picked up my baby. It hasn’t been the easiest, but I’m so happy with him. For the most part, he’s a very good boy (a little rotten, a little naughty… but hey, I did name him after Lupin, so that’s pretty much expected). I’m sharing some of my favorite photos of him over the past year. I made sure his first holidays were memorable, and I think he had a pretty good first year.

We had a pretty good Gotcha Day! I took him to Southern Barker for his free treat.

We went to Petsmart to pick up a cupcake toy.

We picked up a bear toy at Marshalls.

His momma even made him a pupcake!
